[ANIME] Rank-Up-Magic Raptors/Revolution Force

Recommended Posts

Raptors Force

300px-RankUpMagicRaptorsForce-JP-Anime-A

Target 1 of your Xyz Monsters that was destroyed by battle this turn; Special Summon it, then Xyz Summon 1 "Raid Raptors" Xyz Monster that is 1 Rank higher than that monster you control, by using it as the Xyz Material.

Revolution Force

300px-RankUpMagicRevolutionForce-JP-Anim

Take the control of 1 face-up Xyz Monster your opponent's control, Xyz Summon 1 "Raid Raptors" Xyz Monster that is 1 Rank higher than that monster you control, by using it as the Xyz Material.

Discuss.

(When Revolution Force gets its effect confirmed, it gets added here)

Revolution Falcon's stats aren't that great either with 2000 ATK for R6 [we'll have to wait until Wikia confirms its effects before we say anything].

But yeah, being generic is nice; instead of requiring it to be exclusively RRs (which would've severely limited its potential, given you would need either Rise/Stryx to even go into this).

Still waiting for what Revolution Force does, so we can discuss that one too.

On another note, someone hoped that Arc-V didn't get RUMs; well they're here now.

I for one am very excited about this, because if RUM is kept as the evolution of Xyzs, the chances of an Accel Synchro eventually happening are now much bigger.

Other than that, this card could probably afford to be Quick-play when it comes IRL. Otherwise it'd just be a safety cushion for when your power play is ruined, and that is a bit too dependent on the opponent.

Why did I think of Admire Death Thousand when I saw Revolution Force?

Oh yeah, because it steals opponent's monsters to Rank-Up stuff.

Thankfully, it's limited to only 4 Xyz (RRs); but yeah it's nuts + would hurt even more against 3+ mat monsters.

(A lot of monsters Revolution Force can steal + Rank-Up, oh god)

...this is Shun's second Destiny Draw/asspull, isn't it? (And I thought Don Thousand was bad enough)...

Realistically, Revelution force will NEVER get printed, its got so much bulls**t written over it that its just dumb. IRL Fluffals have more chance of getting their support printed unlike the RR Trash that shun is pulling out his ass.

This is basically how shun plays yugioh,

Sora: I summon Des Toy Scissor Bear!!!

Shun: I activate my counter trap that summons Horakthy from my deck ignoring its summoning conditions, I win!

Yeah, Revolution Force will probably never be printed; not without a severe nerf.

RRs have 4 Extra Decks they can SS with this; and whatever Ranks they can hit have a lot of contenders to be stolen.

Shun is slowly becoming Vector/whatever ZEXAL villain frequently made asspulls.

(BTW guys, I posted the Revolution Falcon thread as well)

I hate how shun's deck basically just says NO to every circumstance that Sora couldve made to gain board control.

Shun's deck is so stupid, he runs 1 monster and like 53 counter traps and 4 spells.

So annoying how they've even incorporated the "you cant even play yugioh because of my backrow lulz" into the anime now aswell. :/

No, that's absurd. It's simply because they don't have the iron will and determination needed to win. That's why 3 people at once couldn't beat him.

Im surprised he didnt use a rank-up-magic that xyz summons a RR using all special summoned monsters on the field.

Revolution Force doesn't really need a hard nerf imo because the Rank 5 and 6 targets die to everything with decent stats (and Revolution needs a Raid Raptor material to even do anything relevant on their turn atm). Though, I can see it getting a more suitable cost if they're buffed in their prints.

Raptor's Force is neat but it'd be nice if it ended the Battle Phase or something considering you can just roll over whatever it puts out in your next swing. Though, it works on anything and turns it into a Raid Raptor, so that's cool with 101.

I choose to believe that Shun typically Duels alongside another person on his side who uses Xyz, so that if his ally's Xyz is destroyed, he can bring out his own monsters, or that he potentially fights a lot of people who use his monsters against him, or also use Xyz, making Revolution Force more realistic.

But yeah...Revolution Force is...just...ugh.

Limiting the Xyz targets is part of what made RUM unsuccessful as a mechanic, though there were many other factors for that.

No really good targets and thus no reason to try and play a card that creates less advantage than a second xyz, instead of changing the old one, the fact that the card is very inconsistent, can end up dead and

that there are no really good targets, except for Astral Force (because it is not limited to those unneeded chaos monsters, a few are ok, but there is no real variety, unless you play argent chaos force, which only works with high rank xyzs).Maybe one could then allow more targets to summon via the RUMs (these 2), but limit the first card to its own archetype as start for the rank-up and the second in another way, like requiring a dark attribute target.

RUM is a potent mechanic, but is heavily restricted because its potential restricts future design. Originally, Rank-Up-Magic was only used to Summon Chaos Xyz, therefore making its value dependant on the CXyz/Number Cs, but they veered away from that to make them more CNo. focused.

Astral Force was the first RUM to work on ANYTHING, but with Type and Attribute restrictions.

Making RUM for a specific archetype is a step backwards.

Yeah, that could work, if what you're getting at is making Raptor's Force target only RR Xyz, but Summoning any Xyz that's 1 Rank higher.

You know, unless the playable targets are really, really good. I don't think RUMs have to be generic or specific to start being more worth playing, just... to be more worth it. Limited Barian's Force helped with having to devote less for the bigger Chaos Numbers like C69 or C104, but that was about it. Seventh One doesn't count.

I'd rather the option to be able to evolve 101 into Blaze Falcon than Rise Falcon. At least they'd have to throw three monsters at both of them to completely kill the play.
