Duel Portal Tournament Pooling Thread


 



 


Credits to Nathanael D. Striker for the opening post.


 


This thread will help determine the legal cardpool for official Duel Portal tournaments. Cards submitted must limit problematic interactions, be balanced, and attempt to keep a controlled metagame.


Please note that Duel Portal formats will have a different power level than the proper TCG/OCG metagames.


 


Each participant can provide a maximum of 15 archetypal cards and 10 generic cards initially, then an additional 15 cards  after each tournament.


Effective immediately, all cards must be submitted in written form (no card images), and will be reviewed by our card pool judges: Giga, VCR CAT and Toyo.

The cards that are approved by the judges shall be added to the card pool.


 


Major Duel Portal Tournaments will utilize both cards in the card pool and all Konami cards with some DP-inspired edits to the TCG banlist.


Mini-Tournaments will utilize the same card pool as the Major tournaments, but also have access to cards not in the card pool yet have been approved by at least one card pool judge for Mini-Tournament use.

This thread is the remake of the previous pooling thread. The pool now is officially reset for the sake of a better ability to keep track of the cards and changes.


 


Generic cards submitted in the previous pool can be submitted here with the appropriate format as mentioned in the OP without counting towards the 10 generic limit.


However, archetypal cards still count towards the limit.


 


Card changes must be mentioned first towards the pool managers (Giga, Toyo and VCR CAT) before they can be approved and transferred into the opening post.


 


Cards and archetypes that were used in the previous mini tournament will automatically considered to be in for the pool, unless the pool managers deemed otherwise OR if the user gives a good enough reasoning to drop the archetype and submit another.


 


However, either way, they still need to be posted here in written form or else they will not be able to be used in future tournaments.

I'm going ahead and re-submitting some old stuff from the past.
 

Absol the Emissary of Darkness
Rank 4 | DARK | Beast | Xyz

2 Level 4 DARK monsters
If this card battles a monster, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card: Destroy that monster with this card's effect without applying damage calculation. You can only activate this effect of "Absol the Emissary of Disaster" once per turn. An opponent's monster that destroys a monster you control by battle cannot declare an attack during the next turn.


First effect reflects Night Slash (which gives a better shot at critical hits). To show this, it detaches 1 of its materials to just pop the monster it battles (though in the event someone decides to Xyz a second Absol, that OPT clause is there). Second effect reflects Pressure, in the sense that if an opponent's monster destroys one of yours, they can't strike. (In the case of boss monsters, it'll stop them for a while; whereas smaller monsters will just get used for Xyz, Synchros or whatever).

Cannot be destroyed by card effects. When this card battles an opponents monster with less than 3000 ATK: You can destroy that monster, and if you do, negate its effects in the Graveyard until the End Phase, also inflict damage to your opponent equal to half its original ATK.

Conqueror Charge - Quick-Play Spell Card
Return 1 face-up Level 8 or higher "Conqueror" Fusion monster you control to the Extra Deck; Special Summon 1 "Conqueror" Fusion monster from your Extra Deck with a different Attribute than the returned monster, but it cannot attack this turn. This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon, but negate the effects of the summoned monster that activate when it is Fusion Summoned.

Conqueror Rejuvenation - Continuous Spell Card
During your Main Phase 2, if you control 1 monster or less: You can target 1 "Conqueror" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. Its effects are negated and it cannot be used as Synchro or Xyz Material until the end of this turn.

Valkyrie's Blessing - Continuous Trap Card
This card is always treated as a "Conqueror" card. During either players turn, if a Fusion monster you control leaves the field by an opponents card: You can add 1 "Polymerization" or 1 "Conqueror" monster from your Graveyard to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Valkyrie's Blessing" once per turn.


They are exactly 15 cards.
The only "new" cards in the Generics are "Scepter of the Conquerors" and "Passion Conqueror, Idis". The others were submitted to the old pool already.

If you control a Fusion Monster: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. During your Main Phase 1, if this card is in your Graveyard and it was not sent there this turn, while you control a Fusion Monster: You can discard 1 card; Special Summon this card from your Graveyard, but banish it when it leaves the field.

Enchantess of the Conquerors - DARK - Spellcaster/Synchro/Effect - Level 7 - 2600 ATK/0 DEF

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can return all Fusion Monsters from your Graveyard into the Extra Deck, and if you do, you can activate the following effects based on the number of monster(s) returned:
●1+: Destroy 1 Spell/Trap card on the field.
●2+: Target 1 "Polymerization", or 1 Fusion Material Monster that was used for a Fusion Summon, in your Graveyard; add it to your hand.
●3+: As long as this card remains face-up on the field, Fusion Monsters you control cannot be targeted by card effects.

 

Blackspark Sorceress - DARK - Spellcaster/Effect - Level 6 - 2400 ATK/0 DEF
Cannot be Normal Summoned. Must first be Special Summoned by banishing 2 Spellcaster-Type monsters with different attributes from your Graveyard. Once per turn: You can discard 1 Spell card, target 1 monster on the field; banish that target. If you activate this effect: This card is unaffected by other card effects until the End phase of this turn if you control a face-up Spellcaster-Type monster other than this card.

Clockseal Demon - EARTH - Fiend/Effect - Level 3 - 1000 ATK/0 DEF
During your opponents Main Phase 1, if they Special Summoned 2 or more times this turn: You can discard this card; neither player can Special Summon for the rest of this turn.

End of the Silence - Ritual Spell Card
This card is used to Ritual Summon "Sunlight Spirit Goddess". You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal 10 or more.

Sunlight Spirit Goddess - LIGHT - Spellcaster/Ritual/Effect - Level 10 - 3100 ATK/2100 DEF
Must first be Ritual Summoned with "End of the Silence". If this card is Ritual Summoned: Destroy all other cards on the field. This card cannot attack during the turn you activate this effect. If this card attacks: You can destroy 1 Spell/Trap card your opponent controls. If this card is destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can banish 1 DARK-Monster from either players Graveyard; Special Summon this card from your Graveyard during the End Phase.

Greenfrost Wyvern - EARTH - Dragon/Effect - Level 6 - 2400 ATK/2000 DEF
When this card is Normal Summoned: Target 2 face-up cards on the field; as long as this card remains face-up on the field, their effects are negated, and if you targeted a monster, it loses 500 ATK.

Radiant Daedalus - LIGHT - Sea Serpent/Effect - Level 7 - 2600 ATK/1500 DEF
While face up on the field, this card is also WATER-Attribute. You can banish 1 WATER and 1 LIGHT monster from your Graveyard; Special Summon this card from your hand. You can banish 1 WATER and 1 LIGHT monster from your hand; Special Summon this card from your graveyard. Your opponent cannot add cards from their Deck to their hand except by drawing them.

Crystallize! - Quick-Play Spell Card
Cannot be activated during your turn. Target 1 monster your opponent controls: Banish that target until the End phase, also you cannot activate Spell/Trap cards until the End of this turn.

Lance of Normality - Quick-Play Spell Card
Target 1 face-up monster on the field: It cannot be destroyed by battle, also it is treated as a Normal Summoned monster, until the End Phase of this turn.

Doom Desire Dragons - Quick-Play Spell Card
Discard 1 card. Your opponent takes no Battle Damage during the turn you activate this card. Special Summon up to 2 Level 9 or lower WATER or DARK Dragon-Type Synchro monsters from your Extra Deck or Graveyard, ignoring their summoning conditions. They cannot be tributed or used as Synchro or Xyz Material, also return them to the Extra Deck during the End Phase.

Alcara the Divine - FIRE - Fairy/Synchro/Effect - Level 7 - 2400 ATK/2000 DEF
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
If this card is Synchro Summoned: Target up to 2 face-up cards you control, and 1 card your opponent controls; return the first targets to the hand, and if you do, destroy the second target. For the rest of this turn, you cannot activate cards, or the effects of cards, with the same name as those returned to the hand by this effect. If this card is destroyed by an opponents card (either by battle or by card effect): You can Special Summon 1 "Vulcan the Divine" from your Extra Deck.

Blademaster - Noctem - DARK - Fiend/Synchro/Effect - Level 9 - 2900 ATK/2400 DEF
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monster(s)
When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Your opponent can discard 2 cards, otherwise inflict 600 damage to your opponent for each card in their hand. During the Standby Phase of the next turn after this card you controlled was destroyed by your opponent's card effect and sent to your Graveyard: Special Summon it from the Graveyard in face-up Defense Position.

Shiida, Silver Rose Outcast - LIGHT - Warrior/Synchro/Effect - Level 7 - 2500 ATK/100 DEF

A change regarding the management of the DP Pooling & Banlist.

 

Effective immediately, the DP Pooling & Banlist will be moderated by the following: Giga, VCR CAT and Toyo.

If you are submitting cards or updates, they will need to be approved by the following members.

 

Additionally, Giga will be the lead pool moderator; this means that he has the final word in what goes on with regards to the card pool and banlist.

You must listen to everything he says regarding the format without question.

As for the new DP pool moderators, I expect the three of you to work together to maintain a stable format / card pool for official tournaments, and to resolve issues in a civil and democratic manner.

I am hoping this can be a more transparent system than what existed before. If you have an idea, bring it up to me. If changes will happen, it will be made known so that everyone can have input, rather than just a few. The recent times have broken down DP pretty bad, but I am confident we can build it back up.

For the record though, you are still in charge of keeping tabs on this pool.

 

Giga was appointed to lead pool mod while you recovered from your operation, though it was mentioned that you'd resume command once things returned to normal. Though, I would recommend you talk it over with Giga and co. and what they plan to do with the tournament + all.

Updated the following cards according to recent changes:

-"Wind Conqueror, Arie" is now named "Wind Conqueror, Izanami" due to a change in Artwork.

-"Frost Conqueror, Herina" is now named "Tide Conqueror, Undine" due to a change in Artwork.

-"Shield Conqueror, Athena" was removed and replaced by "Radiance Conqueror, Lightblade".

-"Destruction Conqueror, Pandora" got buffed from 2000 to 2400 ATK to make the Fusion Monsters ladder up in ATK from 2400 to 2900.
