The Official Metal/Hardcore Thread

I remember liking Demon Hunter at one point. Stopped because they always play safe and sound pretty much the same...or was it because that they wanted to sound much more subtle or softer..But they are always great live though.

they haven't gotten any softer really, but yea they haven't don't anything new since they started. I think the reason they're so good live is because all their choruses are like anthems and easy to sing along to. Crowds seem to like that.

Well, I did say one of those things. But they're also intense live which is always great. Kinda like 36 Crazyfist, average album but deliver a killer live show.

Yea, their more hardcore songs are pretty sweet too.

Hey guys, new Shai Hulud is gonna be sick.

Well yea but they're not here too frequently, and I haven't seen Phantom (Harbor Bay) in forever.

I actually have the DVD version of Natasha that comes with Terrifyer but I have yet to listen to it, will do when I get back from work I think.

It's taken me 50,000 separate wrecks to get here and
I've learned absolutely nothing. As I'm standing here alone,
upright and motionless, I'm drowning in her sea.
The rising and sinking of every consciousness I've ever known
now detached and disconnected. The endless cycle of idea and action,
endless invention, endless experiment, endless hopes and endless
disappointments. And I thought all I needed was just one breath to stay
afloat. For me it was like... like the breath, the last breath, the last breath
that I never wanted. Any of this.

I'm moving forward.
I never thought that this would
capsize, but this isn't a boat, it's a coffin! And now I'm moving forward.

Into the sea... into the great sea.
So I began with the end in mind.
The cycles of heaven, 20 centuries gone by, come home.

This thread is severely lack of hardcore for something with hardcore on the title. So I will leave this here gents

Oh we've discussed much hardcore. At the Drive-In is good post-hardcore, though I only have Relationship of Command

Now for some sexy Japanese hardcore.

I've always loved Decapitated since I first got into Death Metal

But this is the most f*cking epic song I've ever discovered by them

I can safely say it compares to Nile's Annihilation of the Wicked album

Oh, and did I mention these guys were in their teens when they made this album? F*cking crazy.

Relationship Of Command is just a perfect album bro. In Casino Out is just as perfect just that the production on the album is not the best some might say. But that's because they did the Norma Jean thing and record life. And Envy is awesome bro, killer band! Here's another foreign skramz band for you:

I'm not really into the death metal thing, I'm ok with some bands and I'm ok with melodic death metal but hell, man! That sheet's awesome. And I'm not to surprise if they did it when they were in their teens, Protest The Hero did the same thing. Check out their album Kezia. They record that album when they were 16 and also went on touring.

I don't listen to too much death metal either but I've heard really good things about this album. The only Decapitated album I've listened to is the newest one and I didn't like it that much. The guys in Nile are crazy good musicians but the music doesn't really do it for me.

Yea, Relationship of Command is great, I didn't enjoy In/Casino/Out nearly as much though. Norma Jean is great too but they only did the live recording thing on Bless the Martyr & Kiss the Child, Josh Scogin took it with him when he left to form The Chariot.

Optimus Prime isn't bad but that track didn't stand out to me too much, sorry. I do like a lot of skramz though, some faves are Orchid, Circle Takes the Square, Off Minor, Gospel, United Nations, and envy (obviously).

I'm gonna post something by my other favorite Japanese band:

It's from a Converge tee that I'm getting, it's their "Dark Horse" design. Drawn by John Baizley of Baroness.

That song was pretty good by the way. Reminds me of Petitioning the Empty Sky meets anything by Zao.

Now it makes sense. Cool tee btw. Anyway, knew you would love it and that's a pretty good description. Didn't knew Optimus Prime has his own band..lol..

And this:

Song was pretty good, I didn't really like it at first but it grew on me.

Here are a couple of tracks from what is one of the most depressing post-hardcore albums I've ever listened to. The songs are about the singer's life as a child who was supposed to be aborted.

Hell yeah, I list to all of them. And you should know, some of the members of Orchid formed another band-Ampere. They're awesome, especially live. And more of good sheet, bro.

I like the music but the guy's voice is really bugging me haha. I'll get around to listening to Ampere soon, I've been meaning to.

Been listening to Rosetta pretty heavily, gonna be seeing them in Orlando next month!!

Winds of Creation was probably their best album behind Nihility. Decapitated has always been high on my list of favorite death metal bands. It's such a shame that their drummer died a few years back. So young and talented...

Nile has never really done much for me. While everyone in the band is extremely proficient on their instruments, their music is just so dreadfully boring to me...

Curious of what you think of The Negation LP? I kinda like that one more than Winds Of Creation.

At first, I thought they're Cedric Bixler-Zavala's new band and I was kinda pump about Cedric doing a skramz band since TMV is no longer a band. I know Bay would be pissed about that news. Then I discovered they're a screamo band from France.
