YGO RP: The LDS LIFE [IC/Accepting]

Kenta watched from the sea of LDS students as Dr. Jones went down to the mysterious man. Though quite shocked to say the least, he was able to retain his composure. "Students of LDS your time is now. Throughout the city there are four duel schools that have agreed to help me in my cause to take you out. The students there have agreed to take your evil down permanently. Come at us if you can?", the masked man declared as four huge screens appeared around the auditorium. Kenta glanced around at the huge screens, then up at where Ms. Akaba had been sitting just a moment before; he saw her being escorted out of the auditorium. "Hmm...since she doesn't have any orders for us, I guess that means that we're on our own for the moment," Kenta thought as he calmly made his way out of the auditorium, trying his best not to get caught in the ensuing chaos of the other students.

"Those four schools...and we're supposed to raid them?" Kenta thought, confused as he sat down and contemplated the situation; he wiped a drop of sweat off the side of his face as he took out his laptop. "It's unlikely that things are exactly as that man explained; But...desperate times call for desperate measures. If I can get any answers, it's worth a shot," he considered as he began looking up each of the four schools. "Alright; I don't know what LDS's role in all of this is, but that's of no concern right now," Kenta stood up and placed the laptop back into his shoulder bag before he started walking off campus in the direction of the Shaolin Hou Duel School.

Not long after, Kenta found himself at the front gate of the building. He looked up and took a large breath; the school was enormous in size and reminiscent of something between a dojo and a temple.

During the sudden free classes Koto had, he had no idea what to do. He had already mastered all he needed for Fusion Summoning, he had no need to learn the more advanced Contact Fusions anyway, he already knew the basics and he could get more information by dueling students who knew it. What truly annoyed him was the arrival of the mysterious duelist, who was he and why did he have a grudge against LDS. Shrugging, Koto walked into the duel courts to see what was going on. Upon entering he saw an Action Duel just start up, deciding to leave it, he walked back out of the court and headed for the entrance of the school, Professor Marco wasn't there and he wasn't in the mood for dueling. Heading into the city, Koto decided to get more information on the schools which were presented as allies to the mysterious duelist.

Seeing one which relied on Action Duels Koto immediately ruled it out, he wasn't one for all the running about. The next was a dojo like building so he knew that his opponents would be tougher than others, deciding to take directions to it, Koto made a not of it and looked at the other ones. The third was a riding duel school, he didn't own a bike and with his fusion cards locked down his deck was limited in what it could do. The final one was what caught the one he first though about going to, it used duel tables to duel and everyone there used old fashioned dueling methods. But what Koto couldn't get his head around was why LDS was being targeted. Sure he had no idea what fully went on at the school, but he hadn't seen or heard anything suspicious around. Deciding to check out the any other schools in the area incase the four which were shown were just a smokescreen, Koto got up and headed back to see if anyone shared his suspicions.

Kohana looked around, she didn't see the point in going after any schools, and to top it off they were even told to be careful, yet the students went on their crusade anyway. Seeing a duel, she walked over. The one of the duelist was, the same one she saw yesterday run into the school building while she was skipping class, the other was a third year student who was using a Blue-eyes deck. Deciding it would be fun to watch, Kohana took a seat and waited to see how the duel would unfold.

"Looking for a group, are you?" Haru suddenly heard someone say, who most likely spotted her sign. The voice belonged to a boy with long brown hair and a black and blue jacket. She quickly nodded in agreement, however, if she could have spoken, she would have said something like she thought at the moment: 'Oh, the white knight coming to rescue the helpless little girl. Wanna bet I'll be the one rescueing you in the end?'

"I was thinking of finding one myself, but your message is kind of... questioning, though. Do you mind if I see your skills first-hand?" Now, that was unexpected to Haru. She thought that those battle hungry LDS students would try to work that off at the other schools, not before they would even be going there. Not that she was going to deny, though. This way, both of them would find out what they could rely on and a little bit of training before they set of to the other schools wouldn't be that bad too.

She took a few steps back and gave the guy a thumbs up. 'Fine, let's duel.' Then, she stomped with her food on the ground she was standing on, and pointed both of her pointer fingers downwards. 'But a regular duel, right here.' Hopefully, the guy would understand her. Discussing stuff like this, without talking, was usually really tiresome. Then she readied her equipment and lastly pulled a card from her pocket which read: 'Haru', showing it to the guy and pointing to herself.

Sora clammered towards the Action Card as her opponent placed down his Lord of D...and then brought out two massively powerful dragons with a Spell Card, causing Sora to audibly gulp and look up at her opponent's monsters with awe. Unfortunately, while she needed that monster in the Graveyard, she wasn't willing to take so much damage in order to get there. Fortunately, when she got to the card, it was...not what she was expecting, but it would still be useful. "I activate my face-down Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!" She declared, flipping up one of her face-down cards to cause a strange figure made out of rusted metal and various bits of detritus to pop up in front of her, taking the blast of electricity for her and her precious monster. "This will negate your dragon's attack, and, I get to flip my Scarecrow back down for a later turn!" The smoking construct then lowered itself back and turned back into a set card, but Sora waited for the jerk to make his next move, and hoped he did that same attack again, instead of being clever...

"I am sorry, but could you repeat that? I was unable to understand you before. I do not speak Japanese."

"Excuse me, will you repeat it? I was not able to understand before. I do not have to speak Japanese."

Souji was a bit confused by this, as he heard what laptop girl was saying, but regardless, he tried for it again, this time slower. "Souji...Kazuraba...2nd Year...Fusion Student..." he stopped, hoping she was understanding what he was saying this time. "What is...your name...and what are...you doing?" After he finished repeating what he asked her prior, he looked down at the laptop and could see multiple tabs open. And some had quite the number of titles, such as "Mysterious Duelist Causes Panic", "The Top 5 Dueling Academies for Your Child to Attend", and others...but he never did notice the hacking items...

She seems to be researching a lot about these things...perhaps...maybe, maybe I could ask for her help... Souji thought, waiting for her answer.

"Masato, Kotsu Masato, 4th year student of.. Uh.. I took Fusion class 3 years ago, Synchro 2 years ago and last year was Xyz, as for now.. let say not in any particular class, nice to meet you anyway." Masato shortly thought about his Pendulum class before replying as the orange guy asked him while keeping.. skinship him who should be a stranger that boy just met? What a weird manner.. He ignored it and continued to say "As for what to do now.. well, if chairwoman doesn't have anything in particular with us d.. students, I think I'll also visit the actual place and find out why or do they really assist that guy before, want to come with me?"

Shortly after that, Masato and Kuri reached Shaolin Hao Duel School, or rather Duel Temple? There were some other LDS students around and he immediately noticed another boy who was in the same room with him yesterday; another deva. As other students began to move together in group, Masato walked to the boy and introduced himself and his new friend before offering his hand "Nice to meet you here, I'm Kotsu Masato, 4th year.. Uh, not in any particular class. Here's Kuri Nokage, 3rd year Ritual class student, and you?"

She responded with a thumbs up, signifying that she definitely understood what he said. She then went a bit away, stomped her foot, and pointed both fingers to the ground.

Definitely mute. Guess she wants to duel here, huh... "Alright then."

As Thomas shuffled his deck and prepped his gear, the girl took out another card, this one saying 'Haru', and pointed at herself.

"So that's your name, huh? My name's Thomas, nice to meet you. Do you want to go first?" She nodded.

Alright, let's see what you're made of... "Duel!"

Damian stood with a headache and a half after realizing what had happened. "What was all that again? A teacher disappeared, we were warned about the disappearance, my teacher dueled, lost, and disappeared, now we're challenged against other Duel Schools or something?" Damian thought before resuming his headache.

Perhaps what confused him the most was what exactly to do. The one thing he knew, however, was he was mad. Really mad. The teacher who taught him the very techniques that made his Deck as good as it was, simply vanished. He wanted to avenge that as soon as possible, but at the same time he knew he couldn't just now. Then there was these "4 Duel Schools who helped me to take you out" thing that slightly intrigued him. Suddenly this became less and less or a predicament and more and more or an opportunity. He was never the hero of the bunch, but maybe there was a chance to put that aside. After all, the idea of going against several Duel Schools seemed very appealing to his search for a challenger worth his time, for once. How to go about it though, was a thought to be had.

Just then, Damian got a notification on his phone. It was a LDS site update, courtesy of Thomas Furisaki. After reading it through, Damian realized what had to be done. Whether he was the hero of the story or not, his job was to play his part in collecting everything he could and figuring out what was actually up with these people attacking LDS. Something was up, especially with them labeling us as the bad guys, and now it's our job to figure that out. Now to go about it. Damian figured by common sense that he would have to go through one school at a time, and thus came difficult decision #1: Which school to take on first?

"Let's see what these schools are putting up for the challenge. Action Duels? Eh, maybe. Being one with the cards? Huh. Duels on motorcycles? That does sound nice. Tabletop Duels? Now that seem like the best way to go." And with that began difficult decision #2: Who to team up with?

Damian knew he was in for something big, so having a teammate would certainly help. However, a reliable one would be his main problem. Having had many quick duels against several opponents really made him doubt on their reliability should he have to duel with them. As Damian looked around to see if he could find anyone he knew to discuss the situation over, he heard what seemed to be a duel nearby. After small searching he saw a duel with what seemed to be a Duelist playing with a Dragon Deck and another trying to fend off the 2 Blue Eyes on board. "Might as well watch" He accidentally thought out loud.

The disgruntled customer laughed. "Well, thanks to my Single Deflection Limit card, you're only allowed to activate one effect on my turn, so I suppose your Scrap-Iron Scarecrow was a good use of your single effect."

He turned to his second dragon. "My second Blue-Eyes attacks, with more White Lightning!"

The huge dragon roared, sending a blast of pure white energy to blast Sora's facedown monster.

Yuruko turned her face away, not wanting to watch the one person who stood up for her have to take an attack like that.

Orpheus frowned as he skated home to retrieve his Duel Runner. Part of him wondered if the damned thing even worked. However, he had spent three years at LDS, all of them pretty good- so there was no way he was going to let someone knock it down like a row of dominoes.

He was Orpheus Galahad, damn it, and his Spellcasters were going to make damned sure that no one took LDS lightly.

Upon arriving back at the school Koto opened up the schools web page seeing an announcement made by a student on the main page.

Ladies, gentlemen, and others, we have a problem here. If for some reason you weren't here for this assembly this morning, here's what happened: A terrorist came, dueled the ritual teacher, beat her and made her disappear. Now the terrorist invited everyone to challenge their allies, which are 4 different dueling schools. We need information about the schools, we need to find out why these schools aligned themselves as such, and we need to find out what this terrorist group wants. For this, I propose that we approach these schools in several groups, be diplomatic about it, but be prepared to duel. Post anything you find here.                         ~Posted by Thomas Furisaki

Deciding it would be a good idea to post his own announcement to see if anyone else shared his suspicions.

I'm sure most of you have heard of what happened to Professor Marco and have seen what has happened to Professor Jones, and know of the four schools which have been shown as allies of the assailant. I am suspicious of the events regarding the schools and want to see what you think of all of this. If you want to talk, send me a message of where to meet and what time.           ~Koto Komagata

"Now all I have to do is wait, though in the mean time, I will check out any other schools nearby and check around here for a bit first." Koto knew he shouldn't talk to himself aloud, especially under the current circumstances with the school being attack. Koto decided it would be best if he got more information about why there was a new class only open to a few students about Pendulum summoning and why he felt that something else was going on at the school.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While watching the duel, Kohana checked the schools web page after receiving a message saying their was a new post, it was made by Koto, and suspicions about what happened. Kohana wasn't one for rumors and decided she would need more information on the events happening, getting up Kohana decided it was time to actually start dueling and improving her deck, though she would still need cards to help with field presence, all she had to help was Call of the Haunted and Justice Call. Deciding to try and find duels with Pendulum users Kohana got up and started to walk around the different duel fields to see if there were any still around.
The strange girl glanced down at the stories he was looking at in English, and cursed the fact that she used a computer that interfaced and displayed in English. Most programming was done in English, and it was the most prominent language on the Internet, so knowing how to read it was important. Fortunately, while the hacking code was also in English, it was pretty much incomprehensible to anyone who didn't know how to use computer coding. However, as he slowly spoke, the mechanical voice from the translator program told its owner, in German, "Soji...Kazuraba...2 years...Fusion Student..." She nodded and waited for him to slowly speak so her computer could translate it. "What...in your name...and...What are you doing?" She replied simply. "I don't need for you to sound everything out. The computer can translate what I say to your language, and vice-versa. I am trying to figure out what to do about the current situation. What are you doing?" Again, her diligent computer cranked out a translation back into Japanese. "I do not need to explore everything for you. Computer, I will be able to translate say to the reverse with your language. I am, trying to figure out what to do about the current situation. What are you doing?" However, in the mistranslation the synthetic voice had given, the mysterious young woman hadn't given her name.
Sora was pretty unhappy about this situation as her face-down monster was revealed to be a cute little bronze-colored hedgehog with multiple metal bolts and screws sticking out of its body as quills. The poor little guy looked up at the incoming blast of lightning with big green eyes before squeaking in terror and curling up into a ball. (800 DEF) However, not even its attempt to save itself was enough, and the little guy was disintegrated, leaving Sora's field wide-open to attack.
As the minutes went by, Kenta took note as several other LDS students approached the Shaolin Hou Duel School. As he stood outside the huge main gate, he was approached by two other LDS students - one of whom he distinctly remembered from the day before in the principal's office as another of Ms. Akaba's selected duelists. He held out his hand in response. "Kenta Hanari, 3rd year - also of no particular class; nice to meet you," Kenta responded, giving a small smile towards the two before his eyes once again fell back to the massive temple before them. "I doubt that I need to ask, but shall we get going?" he stated with a solemn tone as he looked straight ahead.
Suddenly, there was a quick flash of light from all sides of the gate in front of them. Then, Kenta felt a low rumble below them as the gates slowly began to open. Kenta let out a breath of air as the front gates clicked into place, having fully opened up. An ominous wind suddenly blew through the clearing as the entrance revealed in detail the towering temple standing above. At this point, Kenta noticed that several of the waiting LDS students around them appeared to become restless - whether this was due to fear or excitement, he did not know; perhaps a mix of both.
Katana entered the 'rival' school. He didn't believe a word of what the mysterious man said. 'The other schools are out for us? Yeah right...' He looked around the school. 'No-one standing up running around... Just the way I like it.' as he looked to his left he say another LDS Duelist Summoning a monster he had never seen before. "Come out, my burning master! Arise and dominated the competition! Xyz Summon! Flame Brother of Destruction!" A metallic beast rose out of the ground as two flaming warriors became floating orbs orbiting around it. "And I now activate the card Rank-Up Magic Flame Brother Ritual, which I use to make my Flame Brother of Destruction become even stronger. Xyz Summon! CXyz Flame Brother of Absolute Destruction! With its 2900 ATK it will attack and destroy your Ice Beast Zerofyne and knock your Life Points to 0!" The girl shot out of her seat and fist-pumped the air.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As Takara launched out of her seat she noticed a the teenaged boy who came to her Xyz class to ask the teacher a few questions. The one who had the symbol of a millennium item on his t-shirt. The one who people say beat Professor Marco "Hi there!" She said to him with a smile on he face. He replied only with a cold stare and the sentence "Help me beat these guys..." Takara grinned and couldn't wait to get started.

"I do not need to explore everything for you. Computer, I will be able to translate say to the reverse with your language. I am, trying to figure out what to do about the current situation. What are you doing?"

Souji sighed, still not getting Laptop Girl's name yet. Nevertheless, he did notice she was trying to work with figuring out the current situation. "Well, I'm thinking of making an assault on one of the schools. I know, sounds insane and what not, but look...it doesn't look like the staff are really going to be able to do anything at this present moment. Thing is...not sure which school may be one of the weak links in the psychotic duelist's plan..." He paused for a moment, smiling as he knelt down getting eye level with Laptop Girl.

"That's where you come in. You seem to be very good with computers..." Souji said, pointing at her laptop and made his hands do a slight typing motion. "I want you to help me find the weak link between those four schools and help me devise an assault team. What do you say, Laptop Girl?"

The girl listened as her computer began the translation of the Japanese speaker's schpeal, hoping it didn't turn out awkward. Every time she used this method, she got strange looks every now and then from the people of Maiami City she talked to. "Well, I wanted to make an attack on a school. I sound insane, you know, and it does not have to, but...it does not look like a staff, seem to have been really trying to do in the situation, anything at this moment. The thing is...you do not know which school it may be one of the weaknesses in the planning of psychosis Duelist...It's your turn. Do I seem to be very good, and you must help develop an attack team...computer and I want to offer you my help to find the weak link between these four schools. You Laptop girls, what do you say?" She groaned, placing her face in her hands at what had been said to her in German. Maybe she should use some ill-begotten cash to purchase a better translator, instead of operating with one she downloaded for free online. "Alright. The motorcycle school probably uses equipment we would be unfamiliar with. The fighting school will most likely incorporate physical and stamina challenges in their duels. The carnival school will use their audience's favor to their advantage. That leaves the religious school, which should be easy to infiltrate by pretending to be acolytes of some faith. Once in, we can sabotage things from within and corrupt the purity of their sanctuary." She ran this through the translator to get: "Is for. Motorcycle school, probably not we use the equipment that would know us. Battle School, probably will take a challenge of physical and endurance in their duel. Please use the school carnival in advantageously favor of their audience to their own. By simply pretend to samurai festival, there is a need to instill some faith, you are left to religious school. And once a, we will be able to interfere with the corrupt the purity of the make and the sanctuary things from the inside."

Souji got lost when the Laptop Girl spoke to him...and he just was blinking when the whole thing running through his ear again.

He finally sighed and held his head in his hand some. "Alright...I'm going to just do this myself..." he sighed, before clearing his throat. "Can you speak...any English?" he finally asked, speaking in English. Souji could tell that Laptop Girl could read English and he spoke it...to a degree. "I can't...exactly...understand your...translations."

Weeeeeeell here's hoping for some barriers broken... Souji thought with a small smile.

The disgruntled customer smirked. "Sorry, girl- this isn't personal. Lord of D.- attack this girl DIRECTLY!"

The armored man leaped up and punched Sora across the face, dealing 1200 points of damage.

"I guess that's where my turn ends," he shrugged noncommittally.

Orpheus had found and started up the Duel Runner he'd bought for his own 17th birthday. Surprisingly, the thing was still roaring and raring to go.

In moments, the 19-year-old accelerated from his home garage, hitting speeds that, while illegal on surface streets, no one minded provided he kept to the inside of the little-used metro system. He was a streak of green and gold, illuminated mostly by his own headlight.

As Shizun was thoroughly ignored by both of the parties he attempted to engage with he simply left the scene like a specter not to be acknowledged. It seemed like he was going to be on his divalicious journey by himself. Which was actually more than fine as most divas are solo performers anyway. Having said that he made his way to the Ring Top Academy...or that's what he thought he was doing. Unfortunately Shizun is very, very awful with directions and instead went to the school in the east. Of course he didn't realize this till he was in front of the building and he noticed that he was not the first one there. Well what a perfect time to make an entrance he thought as he proceeded to model walk his way to the crowd. It seemed that the strong students were already in the front of the group. So naturally he made his way there. He looked at these older students and he realized that he knew none of them. Pleasure to make thine acquaintance, the FABULOUS Shizun Hanakotaba is here at your service. I see we have all come here to wreck some s**t so lets get to it shall we.

Like the sound of the starting pistol the LDS mob ran past the leading four members and stormed the building. As they went inside one would think that the loud sounds of action duels and card throwing would be heard. However, there was nothing there was no sound. As quickly as the war cries of the LDS students polluted the outside they were silenced once they made it through the doorway. Shizun just glanced over at the other three people in a slightly skeptical manner. Well...that happened. So this should be interesting. Shizun naturally decided that it would be fun to show a strut of leadership as he practiced his runway walk through the door. As he opened the door he noticed a bright borderline blinding light that made him turn his head. Once he was able to actually see he noticed that he was in a dojo. It was weird, something about this place didn't seem to feel right. But at the very least he could see four people doing some kind of training.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kuri was actually pretty that Masato had introduced him. It was a sign that the new friendship was pretty much a sure thing though what was interesting was that here was another person who didn't have a particular path of studentdom. But that was besides the point it was time to attack the school. Well actually it was time for some very interesting A-type personality to force his presence among the rest of the group. Shizun Hanatokaba he called himself, what a...confident youth he was. Nevertheless he too noticed that the sounds of the LDS armada were oddly silent when they entered the building. That could only mean this was some kind of trap. Wanting to err on the side of caution Kuri was going to wait it out and try to formulate a plan, but Shizun clearly had other plans. Hey wait! He yelled as he ran after Shizun and went into the light. Naturally the blinding light that caught Shizun also caught Kuri and he ended up in the same place. Watching the people continue as if his presence wasn't noticed he noticed the confused look on Shizun's face.
The dimensions are off...Shizun looked at Kuri...This room is no where near as big as this school, most likely it is a room inside the school. Based on how the light hits those windows up there we're somehow in the back of the school. Now how is that possible? Neither of us moved that much to where we would be in the back of this school. Maybe we should ask those fine ladies and gents what is going on. Kuri said as he cracked his knuckles and a sinister smile came across his face.
When the boy - Thomas - asked her if she wanted to go first, she happily nodded, before drawing her starting hand. When she saw what she got there, her eyes sparkled happily. Drawing such luck in this duel would mean some great fortune to her. She started by taking on card out of her hand, her main Monster Searcher, the Spell Card 'Determining Destiny'. The special program she had installed in her Duel Disk showed the cards effect to her opponent, while her Deck spit out a single card, which she showed to her opponent: 'Fortune Lady Water'.
Then, she took another Spell out of her hand: 'Fortune Fusion', the card that earned her the entrance to the Fusion Course. She then revealed the recently added 'Fortune Lady Water' along with 'Fortune Lady Fire', sending both of them to the Graveyard. Her Extra Deck spat out a card, which she slammed on her Disk: Her Fusion Monster 'Fortune Lady Purgatory' (Level 7/1400 ATK/1400 DEF).
The new summoned Monster basically looked like a more mature version of Fire, with golden highlights on her dress and, because Water was her second Fusion Material, her scarlet hair gained a blue highlight.
Haru then selected one of the pre-written messages stored in her D-Pad which displayed that message above her head: 'Fortune Lady Purgatory inflicts 800 Life Points Damage to you if a Monster is Special Summoned. Her own summon triggers this effect.' Almost on command, the Red Witch unleashed a blast of blue fire onto Thomas.
Happy about making some Damage, Haru took the last remeaning two cards out of her hand, placing one in her Monster Card Zone, before following with a second in the Field Spell Card Zone. The first one being 'Catoblepas and the Witch of Fate' (Level 4/1800 ATK/0 DEF), the second one being her 'Future Visions', which covered everything nearby with a layer of blue.
Haru quickly typed something else into her device, a message reading: 'Try brewaking this combo.' She overlook her typo, since she was in a hurry, but she hoped that her opponent understood his misery. She may used up her entire hand for this, but it was worth it, considering how rarely she managed to get this combo out.
Haru: 8000 LP
Deck: 35
Hand: 0
Monsters:
-Fortune Lady Purgatory (Attack Position)
-Catoblepas and the Witch of Fate (Attack Position)
Spells/Traps
-Future Visions (Field Spell Card)
-Determining Destiny (Continuous Spell Card)
Graveyard: Fortune Lady Water, Fortune Lady Fire, Fortune Fusion
Fortune Lady Purgatory
FIRE / Spellcaster-Type / Fusion / Level 7 / 1400 ATK / 1400 DEF
"Fortune Lady Fire" + 1 "Fortune Lady" Monster
Each time a Monster is Special Summoned, inflict 800 Life Points Damage to your opponent. This face-up Attack Position card cannot be destroyed by battle with, and is unaffected by the effects of, other Special Summoned Monsters.
Fortune Fusion
Normal Spell Card
(This card is also always treated as "Polymerization".)
Fusion Summon 1 "Fortune Lady" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck by sending Fusion Material Monsters from your hand or side of the field to the Graveyard or banishing them from your Graveyard. If you control a Level 12 Monster, you can add this card from your Graveyard to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Fortune Fusion" once per turn.
Determining Destiny
Continuous Spell Card
When this card is activated: Add 1 "Fortune Lady" Monster from your Deck to your hand, then, you can banish 1 face-up "Fortune Lady" Monster you control, if possible. During either players turn, you can send this face-up card you control to the Graveyard: Until the End Phase, face-up "Fortune Lady" Monsters you control are unaffected by card effects, except by "Fortune Lady" effects. You can only activate 1 "Determining Destiny" effect per turn and only once that turn.
The little girl was confused. There was a mass amount of chaos about her as the place began to empty out, probably to head toward the four school that supposedly had a hand in the madness.
"Wish I knew what was going on..."
"Hey, is that an motorcycle engine?" Her attention called to the strange roar of an engine beginning to approach the outside of the building, Aureli ran out of the front of the LDS building, looking around and wondering what the voice in her head had heard.
"Tekran, I think you're hearing things."
"It's your ears, so aren't you the one hearing things?" Shaking her head, the child duelist looked upon the cityview with her emerald eyes, taking in the sights and momentarily forgetting about the confusion of earlier...
Orpheus burst up from one of the maintenance hatches, skidding on the pavement outside the school.
"Man," he muttered, "I really need to learn how to control this thing better."
The sleek, almost futuristic body of the Duel Runner was at odds with its paint job- emerald green, trimmed in a faux gold color, with relief in shapes meant to evoke the magical runes often seen on Spellcaster cards. Interestingly, the seat was long enough to accommodate a passenger behind him- there was even a hookup for a second Duel Disk to install backwards, as well.
Orpheus caught a glimpse of Aureli looking down from the window. "Oi! Aureli! Which way did they say that Turbo Duel Academy was, again?"
"Turbo...duel?" From what little she did know about Turbo Duels, she would not be able to use her Toons in one, since traditional Spells were locked out of use. "I can come with...but I don't think I can duel...I don't remember where it is, though..."
"Aw, come on, being able to actually FLY around the field while dueling would be fun---"
"Tekran, I won't even be able to summon you in one," she muttered faintly under her breath, tilted her head slightly as if to look over her shoulder.
It had been several hours after her match with Sasha, but that feeling of uneasiness still haunted Bunko while she looked around the school for her assistants. The duel she had, it was far from interesting. Despite she knew Sasha was giving her all into the duel, she felt that she herself lacked the proper drive to duel, and her victory was only achieved thanks to lady luck giving her workable opening hand and topdecks. Was it because of her deck? Granted, she had played solely with it for years, never ever changing it, which might explain her lack of drive that was even lower than usual. Its probably for her own best interest to pick another deck to play around with, but...she had no idea on where she could get another deck. A cardshop? Probably, but she's not really a fan of going into places like that. Well, she could just borrow someone's deck...
"Hey, Bunko! I've been looking around for you!" From behind her, a familiar voice shouted. The voice belonged to Inui Nijiura, one of her two assistants. Quite the nice boy, but he was quite too by-the-book for her taste, which often hampered her pursuit for the truth, but that's not something to talk about now. The kid was looking quite bright, and Bunko knew what that meant.
"Ah, you've done your share of work? And have you seen Hata around?"
"I also brings his work along with mine. He's leaving early due to being physically unfit, but I've finished his work for him."
Hata was another of her assistants, though he's really lazy at times and prefer to spend his day in front of his computer to watch things that would make Bunko blew his house with a rocket launcher if she caught him on the act, and she did know that at the moment he's less "unfit" and more "not ready to deal with her". But eh, that's not something to be worried about. And then, like a spark firing on her head, her earlier thought on borrowing a deck to try enjoying the game somewhat more sparked on her mind.
"Hey, Inui. Can I borrow your deck around for a while? Nothing really big, I'm just in the mood to try some other things."
"Ehh..? Why the sudden interest in dueling? But I guess...sure, since I'm not dueling much too."
"I don't really understand myself. Probably just because I'm somewhat stressed out lately and needs some refreshment."
"Well, alright then. Just, take care of it, will you?"
"Sure, I'll do that."
The Next Day
While she did spend quite a lot of her time that night practicing with Inui's deck (which she almost couldn't understand the first time she played it), the news about Prof. Marco's loss and the hilarious attempt of the school authority to calm the students immediately took her attention. She had sent Inui and Hata (after personally coming to his place with a baseball bat in hand) to cover the events happening in the main hall, and from the live feed they gave her, things went south quite fast there.
But, at this point it's not really her concern. It's time for them to work with the bulk, while she dig for information like she always did. Though...she did admit internally that she was currently wandering aimlessly on the school, until she noticed a blue haired girl was talking with a boy not far from her. At first, she couldn't really understand about what the hell were they talking about due to the weird sounds they made, but after she pulled her headphones out and walked more closely towards them, she realized that they're just talking in English, but horribly mangled by their thick accent. Well, at least the boy did, but she was not sure about the girl yet. Still, that almost made her laugh.
The girl was also seemingly working on something on her laptop, or just browsing the internet, but it seemed like it's not something that she should investigate now. Deciding to try her luck for getting a lead about things, she decided to walk even closer and introduce herself to the two, first in japanese, and she immediately repeated it in English, the language she grew up with.
"Hello there, sorry for barging in during you two's private moments together. I'm Bunko, third-year in Ritual school. But more importantly, I'm the crow that haunted the school, a seeker of truth.
So, just curious. Do you two have any information about the strange occurrence lately, and what had happened earlier in the mass assembly?" Bunko inquired curiously.
Due to a mistake about the dosage of sleeping pills that he took earlier to give him enough rest after several days of sleep deprivation, Kirei was now still asleep inside his place, blissfully unaware about the things happening outside.
The blue-haired youth was surprised at the sudden shift to English, as she didn't know that people in this part of the world often used English as a second language, and a lingua franca to boot. She grinned and answered. "Alright, blondie." She told him in a cute German accent. You may call me Hexe Trude, or Hexe for short. And this f**king translator program's a piece of sh*t anyways. In case my stupid computer didn't make it clear to you, my plan is to infiltrate the Sacred Light Duel School." She started to idly twirl one of her very long braids. "Do you know if this school has any sort of drama department, or somewhere we can get costumes? For my plan, we need to look like nuns and monks and all that sh*t. Christian preferably, but I think we can work with Shinto or Buddhist."
Sora winced at the attack, but didn't seem too fazed by what had just happened. (Sora: 8000LP -> 6800 LP) She had an idea for how to get out of this problem as she drew her card to signal her turn, and smiled happily at the result. It was one of her old friends, but he would serve a different purpose today. She declared. "First, I will activate the Action Card Supply Cache! This allows for me to draw a card!" Near her, the door to a storage room opened upto reveal several crates, which she went to and found, inside of the first one she opened, another crucial card she would need. "Next, I activate Tuning!" Several melodious musical notes rang out throughout the immense fortress, ethereal and peacful in tone. "This lets me add Junk Synchron to my hand, and send the top card from my Deck to the Graveyard." She took out Junk Synchron, one of the several new cards she had acquired, and sent...Doppelwarrior! This all might work after all. She was hoping for Tuningware or Level Eater, but this would be even better. Her plan was now ready to unfold. She just needed to execute it.
"Now, I Normal Summon Junk Synchron in Attack Mode!" Joining Sora was a small cyborg with an orange ensemble, a cream-colored scarf, and an engine on its back. (1300 ATK|LV3|Tuner) "His effect triggers, leting me get back the Doppelwarrior I sent!" Joining Junk Synchron was a slender soldier in black clothing, a helmet and visor obscuring his identity. (800 ATK|LV2) "And joining the fun is Quillbolt Hedgehog! I can Special Summon him back from the Graveyard if I have a Tuner like Junk Synchron!" A familiar face, the cute animal from before spinning into existence before plopping back in front of Sora. (800 ATK|LV2) "Now, I will Tune Junk Synchron with Doppelwarrior!" Junk Synchron reached back behind his back and pulled on the cord that started his engine, transforming him into three green rings, which Doppelwarrior entered to become a wireframe with two stars inside. "An endless expanse will open up to new force! Soar across eternity to a new tomorrow! Synchro Summon! Kick it into gear, Junk Warrior!"
The array of stars and rings exploded into a shining beam, sending out two shadows and a humanoid figure descending in front of Sora. The being had similarities to its Synchron, such as the cybernetic limbs, the scarf, and engines attached to it, but the purple-armored soldier had miniature turbines instead of a car engine that were fixed to wings, which revved as he flexed a massive right fist, red goggles looking at the competition while he floated a few inches above the ground. (2300 ATK|LV5) However, the two shadows materialized on Sora's field into a pair of chibi versions of Doppel Warrior, but with glowing red eyes behind the visor and huge, fanged grins. ((400 ATK|LV1) x2) "I activate Junk Warrior's effect! He gains the combined ATK of all Level 2 or lowers monsters I control, and thanks to my new Doppel Tokens, that value is 1600!" Immediately, Junk Warrior begins to glow with a golden aura, which seems concentrated around his right gauntlet. (2300 ATK -> 3900 ATK)
"Now for the next stage of my turn! I discard Pulse Warrior from my hand to Special Summon Quickdraw Synchron from my hand!" A gunshot echoed throughout the duel as a small mechanical bandolier strolled onto the scene, his hat raised enough to let one eye be shown. (700 ATK|LV5|Tuner) "However, since my Pulse Warrior was sent to the Graveyard, his effect triggers, letting me give 500 ATK and DEF to Junk Warrior!" The ethereal figure of a light-blue armored being with glowing orbs for shoulders and a pelvis, and armor floating around him to serve as limbs, appeared, and Junk Warrior was once more bathed in a powerful aura, only this one blue. (3900 ATK/1300 DEF -> 4400 ATK/1800 DEF) "I will Tune Quickdraw Synchron with my Doppel Tokens!" Quickdraw Synchron twirled his pistol before firing again, transforming him into five green rings. The twin tokens leapt up, becoming golden outlines with a glowing star in each of them. "Gathering anger becomes an entranced warrior born from a brutal god. Roar throughout the endless expanse around us! Synchro Summon! Howl, Junk Berserker!"
Once more, the aligned rings and stars Sora had created burst forth, but instead of something like Junk Warrior, a massive, brutish creature landed with a heavy THUD. Unlike Junk Warrior's streamlined, futuristic form, its cousin was decked out in elaborate and intricate red armor with golden embossment, a fiercesome helm with glaring eyes staring down its competition. The savage warrior grunted as he lifted up a massive serrated axe and hefted it over one shoulder, the blade almost as big as he was (2700 ATK|LV7) "And I activate Junk Berserker's effect! By banishing a Junk monster from my Graveyard, like Junk Synchron, I can target a monster you control, and make it lose ATK equal to the ATK of the banished monster! And since your Blue-Eyes White Dragons cannot be targeted by card effects, that leaves only one option..." On her opponent's side of the field, Lord of D.'s stoic composition was destroyed, and he backed up slightly, realizing that he was the target. "Junk Berserker! Primal Intimidation!" The huge warrior gave a ragged, animalistic cry of pure rage, and Lord of D. was shocked to his core, cowering in front of his owner. (1200 ATK -> 0 ATK)
"I enter my Battle Phase, and Junk Warrior, attack Lord of D.! And, as he attacks, I activate Scrap Fist!" As Junk Warrior's thrusters fired up and launched him into the air, Sora's Set card revealed itself. "When a Junk Warrior I control attacks, Scrap Fist enhances his signature attack! Not only are you unable to activate cards in response to the attack, as well as several other effects, but Junk Warrior deals double damage!" She clenched her own right fist as Junk Warrior reached the crescendo of his flight path, and aimed down at his target. "JUNK WARRIOR!!! END THIS!!!" Both duelist and monster retracted their fists. "SCRAP..." Junk Warrior engaged his jets, hurtling down towards the demoralized spellcaster like a missile. "FIST!!!" They punched simultaneously, but Junk Warrior's fist glowed brightly, creating a massive glowing outline of his fist that impacted first, destroying the terrain around his mark and causing the entire Action Duel to shatter as it concluded, dealing a whopping 8800 points of damage, all at once.
There was silence as the duel concluded. This girl, who had only been here 2 days, had just executed an elaborate an complex string of combos using cards that, combined, were worth around $20 to take down someone using two copies of one of the most popular and expensive cards in the game using a One-Turn Kill, a maneuver that was rather difficult to pull off. One of the nearby students started to clap, followed by another, and then another. Soon, many of the onlookers were applauding the duel that had just concluded, and the surprising turnaround that had followed. Sora calmly went up to her opponent, and requested. "Now, as we agreed, go apologize to the girl you were yelling at."
Hexe looked to the new arrival and answered her. "Guten tag.You may call me Hexe Trude. This is my associate Suijo. We are planning to infiltrate the Sacred Light. Want in?"
It was the first turn, but Thomas's opponent already made a big play. Though she used up her entire hand, Haru made his options limited. Even though she didn't speak, the cards she played automatically showed themselves to him, along with the effects. Thomas did use his Maxx 'C' to chain to Fortune Fusion, allowing an extra card this turn. It wouldn't do him any good to overcome this situation though.
This girl's good, Thomas thought. If I normal summon, my monster would be banished through Future Visions. If I Special Summon, Catoblepas's effect will kill it quick. And she can negate card effects for a turn with Determining Destiny... She's definitely no slouch. It does run the risk of MST and the like, though.
Thomas looked at his hand, and drew. Messengelato... no good. "I activate Pot of Duality." He revealed the top 3 cards form his deck; Solemn Warning, Madolche Magileine, and another Pot of Duality. He added the Solemn Warning to his hand. "I set 1 monster face-down and 1 card face down. Turn End."
LP: 7200
Field: 1 set monster, 1 S/T.
Hand: 4
Graveyard: Maxx 'C', Pot of Duality
