Your personal flaws as a Player.

Recommended Posts

I don't know what really inspired me to make this topic but I've been wanting to do it for a while after realising the type of player I am. Honestly, my biggest flaw is I am basically the most emotional player ever. I either sweep or get sweeped. I am insanely easy to tilt. Even if I win game 1, if I felt I did something wrong it will haunt me for the rest of the day and it's a snowball effect.

Also another thing I do is I either rush and miss things or play way too slowly. Hopefully this topic goes somewhere.

I have not played the game in quite a while, but I did play long enough that I could identify the way I played and according vices in contrast to virtues (of which there was a definite skill at learning well if desired).

I make no emotional investment in the game like a few in the topic have mentioned and, unlike you, I understand that errors are numerous and constant. A point of improvement is making rational choices of cost versus benefit while considering as many options as possible, those things improving as the player improves (they are one). This is something I know I am good at, being analytical as a person.

My flaw would not be my knowledge of the game being anachronistic as much as the decision to dispatch of the most efficient option in order to create an entertaining outcome that would make both players laugh or something. I only care for competition in certain aspects of life where it is necessary, but I intentionally make silly choices because my curiosity always gains the better of me (a reason I love forward and concise statements).

I find my creativity and desire to be different to be a flaw when I play online. I keep using cards I find interesting, build decks around them, and 9 times out of 10 they flop because of what's the norm nowadays.

I'm pretty sure others feel the same way.

I choke. I'm fairly good at thinking ahead and I normally know what the best play is but I have a habit of making really small silly mistakes, especially if I've been thinking too much about every situation that I've forgotten something more basic and important (I'm no good at chess, either). I'm working on it and trying to improve but I think it's the one thing holding me back.

I feel this way with Madolche. I do have Victories over Nekroz and Quilps which is a great achievement but I out all my eggs in one Basket. If I don't have Anjelly in my hand turn 1, I panic so much and forget my combos.

Is it bad to say that I can't think of much?

Well I don't YGO much but I can say in general as a player right?

Let's see....If anything I suppose my issue is...not paying enough attention and doing things a bit too rashly sometimes. If I focus I don't make as many mistakes but I tend not to focus enough and I miss things.

I'm ridiculously inattentive.

Oh, so much of this when I'm playing online. I barely play online but I'm really bad at staying focused and drift off to looking at something else and coming back not knowing whether it's my turn or not and what has gone on. It's one of the reasons why I don't like playing online, in fact.

I feel this way too. At least with playing in real life you can hand shuffle or something while you wait.

That, and the fact that there are no distractions when playing IRL. I can't just flick tabs and do something else, I'm committed to playing yugioh if I'm playing IRL so there's less opportunity to get look away.

1) Absolute hatred for the meta (unless it's supremely cool)

2) Forgetting about everything!

3) Not reading a lot of cards correctly >-<

4) Being way too nice to people, i allow them to fix their "misplays" and stuff when they shouldn't deserve that.

5) So awesome that it hurts

I don't like thinking too much, so I don't like doing math. There are situations in which I could have won in a particular turn, but I didn't because I forgot to put enough damage in the board. That happens quite often.

Sometimes I feel that I fail at choosing the timing of my Traps, like activating Fiendish Chain when I have Skill Drain set, or activating them too late.

Also, when I am in a significant lead, I tend to subconsciously start making suboptimal plays, probably feeling something close to pity for my adversary. Don't think that ever costed me a game, though.

And..., that's pretty much it.
