I know I know this isnt about OCG. As a matter of fact I think this is a little off-topic though..

In my opinion, there is a difference between a noob and a newbie. A noob is a new person who isn't smart. A Newbie is a new person who is smart and listening to help.

Back to OCG: Pretty much, no matter how many times we say it OCG is still a big deal to most people. Although OCG does make your cards look good and all, its not such a big deal that your going to post all the corrections because you think "OCG makes your cards perfect, not the realism and effect." Well, technically the OCG IS the effect. Its just like salt on fries. (Weird figure of speech) You dont have to have the salt (OCG) on the fries (The effect). Of course, if the fries don't have ANY salt you put some on. I don't even know if i made sense in this post. Sometimes The things i try to say come out wrongly worded.

This is most likely my last post on this thread.

That metaphor actually makes a whole lot of sense. It seems to say that basically, those with cullinary skills should be trying to help those who are able to set water on fire learn how to get better. Good card reviewers are able to point the new chefs in the right direction by telling them how much salt to put on and where.

Did I read that right? Or did I go in a completely different direction?

I try my best to help poor suffering noobs who have no idea how to make cards. I give them OCG fixes and good advice on effects and where to get pics from etc. But I have been noticing the fact that there are more noobish cards lately and people should just learn how to make cards before trying.

This is the exact situation. Bravo for being able to put it that way.

OCG to me, is becoming such... The way it is.

That creativity is crawling into the shadows. Becoming useless because people hate the way you worded it.

To be fair, most newbs don't have creative effects. I see where you're coming from, but to completely disregard OCG would have an overall negative effect on the quality of cards in this forum, imo.

Never wanted that. But the OCG obsession is like a virus at this point.

I want to quell it severely.

Even then, I don't know if that would bring the creativity level up. I don't think that the two are related. I wouldn't mind seeing it...quelled. Although probably not to the degree you wish it to be.

I think the creativity level is going down simply because there are a limited number of effects out there. There are only so many objects in a YuGiOh game a card can target, and only so many ways cards can activate, so after a while in this place, you get to see most of them, so nothing seems new. I don't think that being harsh to newbies is having any particular effect on creativity, although I do think people aren't putting enough effort into helping them improve.

It is cancer that is killing YCM! xD (it is funny if you know what am I thinking about but it is forbiden to mention it, lol)

Other problem is that, when someone is posting a lot of cards and expects other to correct his OCG, but he dosen't included writen versions of his cards in his post. At that time it is above anyones power and will to correct all mistakes (becouse it is too much writing and takes time), and at that time usualy witing just "bad OCG". I did it only once or twice since I returned here.

Well, if one OCG error was on ALL of the cards in a set. Do you think you need to correct every last card of your set then repost them all??? No you don't. Of course....Its such a big deal now that they'll give like 7.5/10 or 6.5/10 bad OCG..

Effects: I don't post cards often. Even though I think they are good. I don't post most of my cards because I already know the 1st post will probally say "OCG if off" PERIOD. Even though I went through the whole card and corrected all those OCG errors. And besides the fact of my cards can't ever find a decent pic. lol.

Woow. I must say I agree with you Icy.

I don't really visit this section often, and have come to give mainly OCG-based comments.

I used to comment on creativity but somewhere along the line forgot about it.

But well, I can always change back for the best :)

It's a pretty good idea to remember everyone that effect takes priority over OCG fix (specially when most members don't really "fix" it anyways, and just say annoying EPIC FAIL/10 comments)

Although the message should be in a sticky somewhere in here, where everyone will look at it.

Ah, this is stickied. >_>

Hmm...This discussion has kind of wound down....Everyone is just agreeing OCG isn't everything. I smell a lock soon.
