I am loving Shun these days. Not a perfect character, obviously, but I'm becoming more and more fascinated by his Deck and character.
Is this what I think it is? Shun is smiling?! I know we saw him smile in ARC-V ED3, but that thing ain't canon. It seems he's having fun for once.

All and all, it was a good episode. Shun started using more RUMs. I wonder if Shun got some Pendulum cards or did he refuse using them again.

Last time’s Egao Count: 46

GONGENZAKA: I’m not going.
Rather than fighting some random Duelist, we should be looking for Yuuya…

Dennis: Hold on, Gon-chan.
There’s a chance that Yuuya could be in this place, you know.

GONGENZAKA: Yuuya is in this place?

Dennis: Our mission as Lancers is to look for strong Duelists in the Synchro Dimension and recruit them as allies, right?
So, maybe Yuuya has already heard some rumors about this place…?

GONGENZAKA: Hmm…But is he really in here?
Strong Duelists gathering in this kind of place….

Gallager: Oh, you’re doubting me?
You think an excellent promoter like me would lie to you?

GONGENZAKA: H-Hey!

Dennis: A-ah!

GONGENZAKA: Let go of me!

(Opening Sequence)

Gallager: All right! Here we are!
Why don’t you lads confirm whether I was lying or not with your own eyes?

Dennis: Eh?

GONGENZAKA: W-What is this place…

Gallager: This is the biggest Underground Duel Arena in the City.
This is the gathering place of darkness, where we carry out the illegal Gambling Duels!

GONGENZAKA: Gambling Duels, you say!?
Why did you take us to this shady place…

Dennis: Ah!

GONGENZAKA: What is it?
Ah!
Kurosaki!

Kurosaki: Xyz Summon!
Arrive!
Rank 4! Raidraptor – Rise Falcon!

Mukuro: I was wondering why everyone was gossiping about this Xyz Summon thing…But all you have is a 100 ATK monster?

Kurosaki: Hmph!
Rise Falcon’s effect!
By detaching an Overlay Unit, it gains ATK equal to the combined ATK of all of my opponent’s Special Summoned monsters!

Mukuro: What!?

Kurosaki: Battle! Raidraptor – Rise Falcon!
Tear all our enemies into shreds!
Brave Claw Revolution!

Audience: Kurosaki! Kurosaki! Kurosaki!

Kurosaki: Why? I’m here to look for strong Duelists, obviously!

Dennis: See?
I figured that you would have a better chance finding strong Duelists in an underground place like this than in the city.

Kurosaki: I heard that this Underground Duel Arena conducts genuine battles, where your skills would be tested.
However, everyone here is worthless!
They only know how to brag! None of them has the actual skill to back up their words!

Gallager: Hahahaha!
This guy surprised everyone with something called Xyz Summon, and scored 9 wins in a row!

Dennis: Well, it wouldn’t be a surprise to us, though.

Gallager: True enough…I see.
You’re his friends, aren’t you?
That has to be it.

Kurosaki: Hmph! The Xyz Summon you learned at LDS is nothing more than a sham!

Dennis: Eh? You think so?
But your Xyz Monsters aren’t really that strong, you know?

Kurosaki: What did you just say to me, scumbag!?

GONGENZAKA: That’s enough!
Kurosaki, where are Yuuya and the others?

Kurosaki: Who knows.
I entered this dimension by myself, and came here all on my own.
The others might have been trapped in the gap between the dimensions…

GONGENZAKA: Did you even look for them!?

Kurosaki: I search for strong Duelists.
That’s why we came here, after all.

GONGENZAKA: Don’t you think you should have prioritized searching for the other Lancers first!?

Gallager: Lancers? What’s that?
And what is this “dimension” stuff?

GONGENZAKA: We actually came from the Standard Dimension, and we came to the Synchro Dimension to…

(Dennis shut GONGENZAKA up)

Dennis: Hahahaha!

GONGENZAKA: You…why did you…

Dennis: Now, now.
Let’s put the complicated stuff aside for now!

GONGENZAKA: What?

Dennis: Talking about the other dimensions right now would only invite troubles.

Gallager: Hey! What are you whispering about!?

Dennis: Ah…nothing!
So, to sum it up, because Kurosaki is too strong, you decided to recruit us, am I right?

Gallager: Exactly. I was out looking for some new meat, and was lucky enough to run into you two.
But special mention goes to you, Dennis!

Dennis: Eh?

Gallager: You have what it takes to become a star!
I’ve been in this business for a long time. There’s no way that my eyes would deceive me…Hehehe.

Dennis: Well, thank you for your kind words, Mr. Gallager.

GONGENZAKA: Dennis. Don’t tell me, you’re…

Dennis: Yup. I think I’ll give this a shot.

GONGENZAKA: You want to have a Gambling Duel!? Don’t be ridiculous!

Dennis: But the Duels in this place are pretty unusual.
Here, they Duel on these motorcycle things…

Gallager: They’re called D-Wheels. What? You’ve never seen a Riding Duel before?

GONGENZAKA & Dennis : Riding Duel?

Frank: Riding Duels were originally a game that we Commons enjoy.

Yuuya: Game?

Frank: Crow said that it all began with some mischievous people Dueling and driving through the city at the same time…right?

Tanner: Yup.
These guys used the highway and ride into the center of the City,
Dueling and acting as if they owned the place.
Even the Tops who despise us Commons were also astonished by it.

SAWATARI-SAN: Dueling in a world of speed, huh?
That must be very thrilling!

Frank: Riding Duel is a symbol of freedom.
That’s why it became popular pretty quickly.

Tanner: The Commons were reaaally tempted by their desire to rebel against the Tops.

Amanda: Hey. Why don’t you get over there and talk with everyone?

Serena: Damn it. How long do we have to wait here?

Frank: But of course, the other side would not stay quiet about it.
The Security decided to interfere, claiming that Riding Duels will disturb the City’s peace or something.
That’s why a special squad known as the Duel Chasers was established.

Yuuya: Duel Chasers?

Frank: They’re Securities who ride on D-Wheels.
If you lose to them in a Duel…

Tanner: They will arrest you, and send you to the Detention Facility!

SAWATARI-SAN: Without any kind of due process?
These Security guys sure are terrible people.

Yuuya: Back then…If Crow did not come…I’m sure we would all be captured…

Crow: The Security aren’t the only terrible people around.

Kids: Crow!

Crow: The Tops bastards stole Riding Duels from us!

Yuuya: Stole? So, the Commons don’t do it any more?

Crow: They force us into it.
So that it’ll give the Tops some entertainment.

Yuuya: Entertainment?

Crow: If a chase occurs on the highway,
The roads would change into Duel Lanes, and even the news people would show up to broadcast it.
Originally, they were a means for us to rebel against the Tops, but now, Riding Duels are reduced to a form of entertainment for these bastards.

Crow: Yuuya. If you go outside and get chased around by Security, it will be broadcasted live to them
If you don’t want to embarrass yourself, you should just stay put.
That applies to you, as well.

Serena: So you’re saying the city is filled with Security?
That’s why you chickened out and came back here?

Crow: What’s that!?

Yuuya: Hey!

Serena: You weren’t even able to find any info about Yuzu?

Yuuya: Serena! Crow has already done so much for us…

Serena: No matter how much effort he put into it, it’s meaningless if there’s no result!

Yuuya: H-Hey! Where are you going?

Serena: I’ve decided.
I’m going to search for any information I can get my hands on.

Crow: Fine, if you want to get arrested so much, do whatever the hell you want!

SAWATARI-SAN: Then, I guess I’ll go do my own things, as well.

Yuuya: Huh?

SAWATARI-SAN: If I stay in this place all the time, I’m going to suffocate myself.
I’ll go look for any clues I can find about Akaba Reiji and the others.

Reira: Brother?

Yuuya: Hold on just a second!
If you guys move out on your own, we’ll get separated again…
Reira!

SAWATARI-SAN: Hmph!

Yuuya: Ah! Sheesh…What am I supposed to do with them!?

(Chess Commercial. Brb)

Dennis: I see. So you ride on a D-Wheel and Duel at ultra-high speed.
That’s what a Riding Duel is.
That sounds fun!

GONGENZAKA: That’s your idea of “fun”?
We don’t have the time to participate in these Gambling Duels!

Dennis: Yeah…
But they sure are excited.

Crowd: Kurosaki! Kurosaki!

Dennis: My Entertainer’s Blood is boiling!
I want them to chant my name, instead of Kurosaki’s!

Gallager: Gahaha!
That’s the spirit, Dennis!
I knew my eyes weren’t deceiving me!

Dennis: Whoa!

Gallager: All right, you’ve made your decisions!
Let’s do this right now!
You will Duel against Kurosaki! Hehehehe!

GONGENZAKA: Kurosaki!
You’re not planning to do this as well, are you?

Kurosaki: If I beat ten people in this Underground Duel Arena, I will be given the right to participate in the Friendship Cup!

GONGENZAKA: Friendship Cup? What’s that?

Gallager: It’s the City’s biggest Duel tournament.
It’s a tournament celebrated once every year
In the name of reconciliation between Tops and Commons,
Where they gather many gallant souls selected from many Duelists.
The winner of that tournament…

GONGENZAKA & Dennis: Ah…

Gallager: …Will be given the right to fight against the Duel King, JACK ATLAS.

Dennis: Duel King? So he’s the strongest Duelist around here?

Gallager: Is he strong? Well, of course he is!
JACK is the City’s, no, he’s the strongest King in the entire world!

Dennis: All right, I’ve made up my mind, Gon-chan.

GONGENZAKA: What?

Dennis: If I get into the Friendship Cup, I would be able to meet many strong Duelists and even fight against the King himself.
This is the perfect way to recruit more Lancers!

Kurosaki: The one who shall fight against the King…

Dennis: Ah…

Kurosaki: …is me.

Dennis: I wonder about that.
We’re not going to know if we don’t do it.

GONGENZAKA: You two…

GONGENZAKA: What am I doing here?

Gallager: To those of you who want to make a quick buck,
I, Gallager, the most excellent promoter, shall give you a chance to fulfill your dreams!

Gallager: The time has finally come for Kurosaki’s tenth match!
If he wins this match, he will have the right to participate in the Friendship Cup!
However, it’s not going to be an easy ride for him!
After all, the one who stands in his way
Is a marvelous newcomer, who manages to exceed my expectations!
His name is Dennis MacField!

Dennis: Yes! I am an Entertainer!
I shall guide you all to a world of fun and thrill!
Let’s enjoy…
Show time!

Gallager: Now, the champion, Kurosaki, shall make his entry!
In accordance with the rules of an Underground Duel,
A handicap shall be applied!
The newcomer, Dennis, will start with 4000 Life!
And Kurosaki, who has nine wins under his belt,
Shall start with only 1000 Life!
However, even if his Life is four times lower,
It won’t affect Kurosaki’s chance of victory!
Buuuuut… I, Gallager, can attest to Dennis’s skill!
If you want to make big bucks, you can place your bet on Dennis, and it would still be a good choice!

Random Lady: I’m betting on Dennis!

Random Guy: I’m betting everything I have on Kurosaki!

GONGENZAKA: Every single one of them is covered in greed.
This is unacceptable!

Dennis: Even if there’s a handicap, I won’t hold back.

Kurosaki: Hmph!
You don’t have to tell me!

Gallager: All right! Let’s do this!
Field Magic, Speed World Neo, activate!

D-Wheel: Duel Mode On. Autopilot. Standby.

Gallager: Riding Duel…Acceleration!

DUEL

Kurosaki: I’ll take the first turn!
I summon Raidraptor - Skull Eagle from my hand!
Then, I activate the Magic Card, Raidraptor – Call.
I can Special Summon a monster with the same name from my deck!
I Overlay the two Raidraptor - Skull Eagle cards together!
Xyz Summon!
Come forth! Rank-3! Raidraptor - Devil Eagle!
Due to the monster effect of the two Skull Eagles that have become Xyz Materials, Devil Eagle’s ATK is increased by 300 for each of them!
Then, I activate Devil Eagle’s monster effect!
By detaching an Overlay Unit, it can inflict damage equal to the ATK of a Special Summoned monster!

Dennis: Already?

Kurosaki: I set one card facedown and end my turn.

Gallager: As expected from the current champion, Kurosaki!
He Xyz Summoned on his first turn, and also managed to dish out 1600 damage to Dennis right off the bat!
Will Dennis even have a chance at all!?

Dennis: Nothing is decided yet.
The fun has just begun!

GONGENZAKA: Arrg…how dare he, stealing Yuuya’s catchphrase!
This is unforgivable!

Dennis: It’s my turn. Draw.
When I control no monsters while my opponent has a monster on his field,
I can Special Summon Entermage Wind Sucker from my hand.
When it is successfully Special Summoned, I can reduce its Level by 1.
Then, I summon Entermage Ball Rider from my hand!
I Overlay the Level-4 Wind Sucker and Ball Rider together!
The show must go on!
Magician of the ether!
Swing across the stage with splendor!
Xyz Summon!
Come on out! Rank-4!
Entermage Trapeze Magician!

Random Guy: That guy can also use Xyz?

Random Lady: Xyz vs. Xyz?

Random Guy: This match must be first of its kind!

Kurosaki: I use Devil Eagle’s remaining Overlay Unit, and activate its monster effect!
It can inflict damage equal to the ATK of a Special Summoned monster!
I’ll have you receive damage equal to Trapeze Magician’s ATK!

Gallager: Uh-oh! Looks like he’s in trouble!
Trapeze Magician’s ATK is 2500, but Dennis’s Life is only 2400!
If he takes this damage…

GONGENZAKA: Kurosaki will win.

Dennis: I activate Trapeze Magician’s effect!
Any effect damage lower than or equal to this card's ATK is negated!
Then, by detaching an Overlay Unit, Trapeze Magician can attack twice!

Kurosaki: What?

Dennis: Battle!
Trapeze Magician! Attack Devil Eagle!

Gallager: The table has been turned!
Dennis has driven Kurosaki into a corner!

Some rich dude: Kurosaki only has 100 Life left!

Some other dude: Is he going to lose for real this time?

Dennis: Naturally, I’ll follow up with a direct attack!
Do it, Trapeze Magician!

Kurosaki: Trap, activate! Necro Raptors!
It reduces damage from a direct attack to zero,
And Special Summon a Raidraptor from my graveyard!
I’m going to bring back Raidraptor – Devil Eagle!

Dennis: So your forte is Trap Cards, huh?
That’s going to be annoying.
I set one card facedown and end my turn!

Gallager: It is as if both of them have their swords on the other’s neck at the time!
Keep your eyes on them, folks!

GONGENZAKA: Dennis was able to push him this far…
As expected from LDS, I guess.

Kurosaki: Someone from LDS can actually Duel like this?
In that case...It’s my turn!
I activate Rank-up Magic, Raid Force from my hand!
By using the Rank-3 Devil Eagle as a material, I can Xyz Summon a Raidraptor that is one rank higher!
Rank-4! Raidraptor - Force Strix!
Force Strix’s effect! By detaching an Overlay Unit, I can add Raidraptor - Necro Vulture from my deck to my hand, and then summon it!
Then, by releasing Necro Vulture, I can activate its effect!
I can add a RUM card from the graveyard to my hand!
Rank-up Magic, Raid Force!
By using Force Strix as a material, I can Xyz Summon a Raidraptor that is one rank higher!
Ferocious falcon.
Cut your way through the fierce battle and spread your wings.
Eradicate all enemies who dare to approach you!
Rank Up, Xyz Change!
Come forth!
Rank-5! Raidraptor - Blaze Falcon!
Blaze Falcon’s monster effect! By detaching an Overlay Unit, it destroys all of my opponent’s Special Summoned monsters, and inflicts 500 damage for each one of them!

Dennis: AAh! Trapeze Magician is…!

Kurosaki: You’ll meet the same fate sooner or later.
I activate the Equip Magic, Raptor's Ultimate Mace!
I equip it to Blaze Falcon, increasing its ATK by 1000!
Battle! I attack directly with Blaze Falcon!

Gallager: Dennis’s Life is 1900!
Is this the end of the line for him!?

Dennis: When I’m attacked directly by a Special Summoned monster, Entermage Ball Rider can Special Summon itself from the graveyard to the field!

Kurosaki: Pointless.
Blaze Falcon can attack directly even if you have monsters on your field!

Dennis: Trap, activate!
Pinch Breaker!
My opponent’s monster’s ATK becomes equal to the DEF of one of my monsters!
AAAAAAHHH!

GONGENZAKA: Whoa!

Gallager: He survived somehow!
However, that was still very close!

Kurosaki: Blaze Falcon’s effect. When it inflicts damage to my opponent, it can destroy one of my opponent’s monsters!

Dennis: At this moment, Pinch Breaker’s effect ends.
And Blaze Falcon’s ATK returns to normal.

Kurosaki: I set one card facedown and end my turn.

Kurosaki: You…Are you really an LDS student?

Dennis: Of course I am. What about it?

Gallager: Both of them have 100 Life left.
Just who will win this battle!?

Dennis: I don’t know what kind of suspicions you’re harboring,
But why don’t we enliven this a bit?
All right, here I go! It’s my turn!
Using the Scale-2 Entermage Water Dancer and the Scale-6 Entermage Fire Dancer from my hand, I set the Pendulum Scale!
With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Level-3 to 5!
Pendulum Summon!
Come forth! My monsters!
I summon two Entermage Wing Sandwichmans,
And then, from my Extra Deck, Entermage Ball Rider!

Random Dude: Did he just summon three monsters at the same time!?

Random Dude 2: He can even summon Level-5 monsters without releasing monsters!

Gallager: Hahahaha!
It’s a summon method that has the magic to bewitch everyone…
Its name is…!

Jean-Michel: Pendulum Summon?

Security Officer: Yes, sir.
It’s in the Underground Duel Arena located in the center of the City.

Jean-Michel: Send our people over there at once.
They’re probably hiding in that place.

Security Officer: Roger that.
(Preview for Episode 59)

Gallager: Did you see it!?
It’s a summon method that has the magic to bewitch everyone…
Its name is…
Pendulum Summon!
Will Kurosaki be able to protect his Number 1 spot?
Or will Dennis replace him as Number 1!?
Kurosaki or Dennis?
Dennis or Kurosaki!?

Yuuya: Next time on Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V:
Underground Riding Duel!!
The fun has just begun!
I know, right? The catcher is that he looks like he's genuinely enjoying himself with the others, like in his duel with Gongenzaka. Whether that's just him being a really good actor or a sign that he will eventually come around to the side of good, it's strangely endearing. And I'm not even totally convinced that he WILL join the good guys, even if this is Yu Gi Oh.
The one minor thing that didn't seat well with me is the combination of Shun dueling Mukuro, and Shun saying all duelist around there are worthless. Though only when combined, not individually.... Not something extremely bad either though.

Other than that I enjoyed the duel so far, and Shun is definitely getting more likable nowadays.

I think Dennis's duel power is enough for suspicion, Shun WAS hunting down the top LDS students, teachers, and overall elite of the main establishment for a while and talking about it like they were flies, so Dennis's skill being unprecedented to him sounds legit to me. Too bad Dennis doesn't know about this chapter of Shun's, and that might prove problematic for him in the future even if it isn't enough evidence to point fingers right now, but it'll most likely add up. I don't know how long it'll take, but I have the feeling Dennis will get discovered before he gets to reveal himself in the "my job is done" kind of way.
I want Shun to win, and I also want Shun to get Pendulums, he clearly has potential to further his RUM evolution forms by complementing them with that mechanic, after all, we all know he loves his RUM cards, and the Xyz that was 2 rank-up forms above his ace during Sora's duel, he was able to make it as the base.

This means that while he currently has 3 and 4 access to evolve into 5 and 6, he'll maybe down the road be able to do 5 and 6 base forms ranked up into some 7 or 8 Raid Raptors.

As we told him last week, the script is basically a fan interpretation of what the characters are saying. It is NOT the actual script that TV Tokyo uses for the show (recall that certain phrases in Japanese can be interpreted differently by people, so it's really up to the subber and their knowledge of the language).

If he doesn't want to read it, then no one is forcing him to read it.

--------------------

There was that one episode where he used Sawatari's Pendulums to get 3 Wild Vultures, then Xyz into Revolution normally.

So yeah, it's likely that he'll gain some R7 and 8s later on; and maybe his own set of Pendulums.

But otherwise, this is probably the only episode that Shun actually smiles, instead of being stone-faced like he usually is.
I liked that little quote from Dennis after Shun used Necro Raptors. "A Trap card for his niche, huh? That's a little annoying."

I thought it was interesting, since that is definitely the thinking patterns of the Fusion Dimension in regards to the Xyz Dimension. This could mean that Dennis is a native to Fusion, or, he's a Fusion trained Standard player. If we see him Fusion Summon we'll know.

Hey, hey, hey. Nice new RR cards we got going there. Devil Eagle is obviously the most broken rank 3 monster in existence and really puts people in the anime on the line of being killed off by their 2nd turn. Kinda like how Dennis would've fallen victim to that if Trapeze didn't have that effect. Shun still proving that he's a good duelist as he's able to tie it up even after starting off with 1k life.

I want Ultimate Mace and i already know Raid Force is coming in the future. Idk if i'm going to use the level 3 RRs or not yet.

I wanna see the gimmicky Entermages again.. The pendulum ones are not even close to being as gimmicky and most of the pendulum ones are super boring (Mirror conductor is the only cool one so far)
Gongenzaka disagrees with the idea of using duels for money, but given we already have underground arenas for watching dog fights and other illegal activities, I suppose this shouldn't be much of a surprise.

I can only imagine how peeved Yuya would be right about now if he found out Dennis was flagrantly showing off the summon mechanic that he founded.

So Riding Duels are just a form of entertainment for Tops now; why am I not surprised there?

Probably because 5Ds probably had that, although more/less for people in Neo Domino as a whole in that area.

Serena and Sawatari are too rash and want to risk getting arrested. If Reira had gone out, he'd be nothing more than a dead weight so for his safety, Yuya was right to restrain him.

They want to find answers, yes, but considering the crap they just pulled upon arrival [and it's partly due to Security being oblivious to the dimensional counterpart thing], not a good idea.

I agree with Shun having doubts on Dennis's true allegiance; if he Fusion Summons next episode, we will see.

Although Dennis can hypothetically make a Rank 5 next episode, but we gotta see.

(On that note, a lot of stuff from RAWs hold)
- Shun mentioned that everyone he had duelled thus far had been disappointing and he was able to get 9 wins without much effort

 - He later goes on to mention the Friendship Cup and if he was to win one more duel, he automatically books a place in the competition.

- Riding Duels are now a form of entertainment, and if one begins in the city then it gets broadcast on TV? Well then... I mean don't get me wrong, Riding Duels can be fun to watch, but when you're forced to do it, the fun is somewhat taken away

- Shun is starting to suspect Dennis, wondering if he's actually from LDS.
Kinda peeved at how apparently in the huge illegal dueling arena the promoter (who is also the MC, for some reason) doesn't even bother to give his duelists stage names. That's a big oversight on the writers' part, and it's really inexcusable.
Also, how is it that if you win the underground illegal tournament you're somehow given an entrance to the (legal) Friendship Cup? This can be explained, though. Maybe Gallagher has connections in the right places (apparently Jean-Michel Roger knows about the underground arena, so...) and can pull some strings to get that entrance to his champion.

Apparently, the situation in Neo Neo Domino is worse off than we thought. If you're arrested, you're not given a process - not even with a kangaroo court. You're just sent straight to detention. Wow, it's worse than some real-life dictatorships.

Also, Hunter Pace made a cameo. Hi Hunter. Apparently, you still lose to birds. Some things never change :D

Dennis is REALLY good at covering up his sabotages with "reasonable" choices. After all, he was right in saying that a dueling arena would've been a place where they'd be likely to find their teammates or some strong duelists to recruit. Of course, he made sure to showcase his Pendulum summoning so that EVERYONE in the city would know it.

The scene at Crow's house was... very, very sad. Poor Yuya, he must be feeling like s***, seeing how everyone is just so angry and impulsive and nobody listens to him. It was honestly one of the saddest scenes of the anime for me. You can tell this really isn't like other YGOs where the heroes were all buddy buddy...

Oh, Shun's new stuff looks neat. I'm honestly starting to like his gimmick of ranking up his monsters to get the effect he needs. I'm a bit weirded out by the new names, though. Both Level 3s and Rank 3s are Eagles, and we all know that eagles are much bigger birds than shrikes (Lanius, L4s) or even falcons (R4s). Then, there is a L4 Vulture, while we were lead to think that Vultures were his L6s. I don't think I like this, it breaks a naming theme that was perfectly logical and witty before.

Komaeda_%2812%29.png

Of course, there's a lot of twisted logic with the Synchro Dimension. If it's really an underworld duel arena, why da fuq are there so many attendants? Sure it's mostly all shady looking people, but there's a difference between a secret society and after-hours dueling, and the only thing secret about it is the fancy elevator. I would have expected a more smaller institution that held things like caged duel arena fights with rich audience members watching. But nope, it's a fucking stadium that lets you play card games on motorcycles and apparently it's run by a Boondocks reject character that is SO SECRET that even the head of the security, Jean-Michel knows about it all. Whether Gallagher and Jean-Michel have their own relations or just that Security is much more powerful than a "SUPER SECRET DUELING SOCIETY", it's still all ridiculous stage setting.

But I would definitely think that implanting the thoughts of Pendulum and Xyz negativity in the minds of possible Tops residents while keeping it a secret in public is one thing to take note of. And then you got the Catch-22 with security, but we all know it's pretty damn stupider than 5Ds. What can you say; If YGO Anime can make up so many absurd scenarios and we can believe in things like card games on motorcycles or an entire city on top of another, the writers could definitely get away with exaggerated backgrounds to implement a definite thought in children viewers.
But nope, it's a f***ing stadium that lets you play card games on motorcycles and apparently it's run by a Boondocks reject character that is SO SECRET that even the head of the security, Jean-Michel knows about it all.

I think we can blame the dear old Writers Have No Sense of Scale for that. Still, it is pretty damn ridiculous that something that big can go unchecked. Okay, from what we've seen it's pretty obvious that Gallagher has some kind of dealings with Jean-Michel Roger, but it's still a bit ridiculous. GX did it better.
It might not be a literal "underground" ring in the same sense GX used it, where the Duels were dangerous and illegal for the entertainment of unsavory folks. It really looks more like it's unsanctioned. It's illegal because it's probably not going through the proper channels and licensing that would be needed to sell tickets at a stadium for events, rather than being outright criminal. But considering the way police and crime work in the City, it's still something that probably would be cracked down on if Security could be bothered. But they have better things to do, like making sure Commons don't enter the Tops area.

And considering how big Dueling is as part of the entertainment industry, it's a flow of cash revenue that the City isn't getting, but that select individuals are probably pocketing tax-free. Plus the gambling. The gambling seems to be a big part of what would make it illegal.

To be honest, given what we've seen of Neo Neo Domino for now, it seems a bit weird that gambling would be illegal. I get what they're trying to do - the whole thing is more a "huge casino" thing than the "dangerous entertainment for rich sadists" we saw in GX, but that kind of thing in real life is usually fully legal and happens in states that allow it - like Monte Carlo or Monaco. I mean, it'd be much more believable if the arena was underground but not illegal: it's open to anyone willing to gamble, and supposedly "respectable" people stay out of it.
- I was hoping for Shun and Dennis to finish their duel, but of course Security had to show up and arrest everyone.
- A very deep argument between Yuya and Crow. Is Egao useful or not?
- Eventually, Yuya's group got captured by Security too. They couldn't even start a duel with them.
- Ninja guy could only save Reira from being arrested. Those eyes looked like betrayal to me!

In the preview we see Yuya and Gongenzaka's touching reunion.

Also, the place where they taken the arrested looks even worse than the Facility in 5D's.

So both duels got cut out early only to be interrupted by Security. Crow and Yuya would have had some interesting things to take out of it, especially knowing how Raikiri will deal with Yuya's Pendulums, but Dennis vs Shun had tons more potential, and I was pretty surprised when Security had to interrupt at that time. What an operation Security had to do to detect Pendulum/Xyz presence and arrest each one of the slums people, and Gallager's wherabouts will be unknown.

I was pondering Tsukikage's point of being a Lancer in this Season, but now when he gives the eye to Yuya and takes Reira away, and when I look at that one clip of both of them in the OP...apparently his purpose involves him and Reira and possibly with Reiji, but that whole relationship is totally cloudy. For now, all I can imagine is all of the Lancers being interrogated and possibly having their cards confiscated. I wouldn't say they had this coming, but Reiji in wherever the hell he is probably his planning something more grandeur than the Security can possibly imagine. Reiji definitely still has intentions to make an alliance with the Synchro Dimension, even if it means his followers will have to look like crazies/aliens.

Egao count through the roof anyone?
Also, I think Sector Security is a lot more competent/threatening than the Obelisk Force so far. I don't think that might be their intention though.

Reiji can't benefit from the lancers being taken down. As helpless as they've been, it is still better than no fighters on his side, even though they seem to be more like pawns than comrades. I guess we'll have to see.

Egao is love; egao is life.

It helps that the Lancers are on Security's home turf.
So Dennis makes a Rank 5 and Shun combos to steal it and Rank Up into Revolution Falcon, due to his Equip Card. That was awesome, and Dennis got a hilarious "oh crap" expression.

But that Xyz can Summon another copy of itself when targeted, I guess. Which is very nice, and at first it seemed like it implies Shun was going to lose. EXCEPT...Revolution Falcon can detach 1 to make a Special Summoned monster's ATK 0 when it battles, so in all likelihood, Shun really did have that Duel won. But the Duel got interrupted and everyone arrested. Which makes me think there's still more potential in Dennis vs Shun, due to Dennis already getting Shun suspicious of him.

No idea exactly what the Crow and Yuya argument entailed, and the Duel was almost comically lackluster and got interrupted too quickly for me to even care. Everyone got arrested here, too. Except Reira, who got ninja-ported away. Considering that said ninja is a Lancer who seems to have a contract with Reiji, I wouldn't be too overly concerned about whether there's something sinister involving this. Under the circumstances, I think Reiji and the ninja were grouped together when they arrived, and Reiji instructed him to find the others. But one ninja can't ninja-port a dozen people, so he saved the highest priority character: Reira.
- So Dennis' new Xyz requires 3 materials, I thought it only required 2. Oh well at least we know how Wing Sandwich got its name by using its effect

- It's a shame Shun/Dennis' duel ended with no result due to Security pulling the plug and arresting Dennis, Shun, Gongenzaka and others (All of which had criminal marks already).

 - I like that they used cards like Assault Dog, Stygian Security and Gate Blocker to assist in their arrests.

- The Egao argument between Yuya/Crow seemed a bit petty imo.

- Is it me or does the red sack drooping from Oroshi's neck look a bit smaller than it looked in 5Ds.

- Security has a new toy that ends duels by capturing the suspect in a net, and as just as they come to arrest everyone on scene, Tsukikage comes out of nowhere and saves Reira

 - That being said Serena was the only one who noticed him. I wonder if he knows Reiji's whereabouts, or if he was simply saving Reira from the fate that would befall the others because he heard how bad it is at the facility.

- I can see why Yuya overreacted about Reira's sudden disappearance because he didn't know who took him.
