Archetype Game

Tinkerer

Recommended Posts

A fiend archetype that goes for the deck-out win condition. They summon themselves in defense then have hand and graveyard traps to prevent leaving the field. They then have an XYZ monster that can restock the deck while emptying your opponent's.

Cluster(from My Life As A Teenage Robot; a machine archetype with an insect playstyle)

A set of Machine-type monsters named for certain kinds of beetles. They focus on piercing damage, with cards to manipulate battle position, effects that activate when a Cluster monster inflicts piercing damage, and a boss that can Special Summon itself when a certain amount of piercing damage is inflicted in one attack. They also have a moderate amount of swarm, and are always treated as Insects.

Living Song

Thunder and Rock monsters, named after famous pieces of music, which can Special Summon each other- from hand, grave, Deck, Extra Deck, Banished Zone- because they destroy each other after a set number of turns. All Attributes, various Levels, and a good amount of Synchro and Pendulum support. Their boss, naturally, is a Synchro Pendulum that works like a cross between Judgement Dragon and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon.

An archtype with Grandmothers in wheelchairs as it's fodder monsters. The deck focuses on skipping the opponent's battle phase by tributing face-up grannies and milling the opponent's deck by "grounding" them with continuous trap cards. Their boss card is a ritual summoned Queen Grandmother in a Rollercoaster who deals her ATK in damage whenever the opponent mills cards.

Trinket

An archtpye of low leveled monsters that can shuffle themselves face-up in the opponent's Deck. When such a face-up card is added from their Deck to their hand, some sort of negative effect is applied (not to mention the card being pretty much a dead-draw for them). Among other things, their Spell & Trap support 'helps' your opponent to quickly draw into these cards.

Next archtype: "Leprechaun"

Leprechaun

EARTH Fairies that give your opponent draw power, and lots of it, but make any draw a dead draw by cutting off your opponent's options ("as long as you control this face-up monster, your opponent cannot activate Continuous Spell Cards").Rather low stats, some basic Spell and Trap support, and no real boss monster.

Leaden Society

Archetype of EARTH Psychic-Type monsters. Unlike most monsters that are stronger with the morw monsters you control, each "Leaden Society" monster has a "While you control no other monsters" effect. However, this doesn't mean they're completely feeble in large numbers. If you Summon various ones (they don't take much effort to Summon), ypu can Xyz Summon for your "Leaden Society" Xyz Monster, and each of those comes with a "While you control no other monsters" effect too.

Usagi Order

A group of level 2 beast-warriors that have generic beast/beast-warrior/winged beast support. They focus on inflicting small burn damage and defending themselves with "block locks" (the action where 2 monsters draw attacks so the opponent can't attack at all. Ie, 2 Marauding Captains).

A set of LIGHT and DARK monsters who cannot be used as material for Xyz, Fusion, Synchro, or Tribute Summons, and cannot be Pendulum Summoned. In exchange, they're incredibly fast, with tons of Special Summon effects that let them summon from everywhere not the Extra Deck (including the Spell/Trap card zones and the Field Spell zone; the Field Spell and their Continuous Spell/Trap cards can summon themselves as monsters once certain conditions are met) and effects that grant them ATK buffs. Some members also have effects that allow them to destroy Xyz, Synchro, Fusion, and Pendulum monsters, as well as Tribute Summoned monsters.

Archetype of LIGHT Warrior-Type monsters. Thay all share the same effect "This card cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon". However, they all have effects to inhibit your opponent. Their Levels vary, and they're not too difficult to Normal/Special Summon. They also have a Main Deck boss monster at Level 11.

Archetype of high Level FIRE Zombie-Type monsters. Some can be Normal Summoned without Tributing in exchange for a halved ATK. Their Spell/Trap Cards also help with Summoning them. They primarily focus on destroying/banishing cards your opponent controls. They have 3 boss monsters; an Xyz, a Fusion, and a Main Deck monster.

A set of LIGHT Fiends based on the seven deadly sins. Each have effects based on what sin they're named for (Sloth has a Vengeful Bog Spirit-esque effect, Wrath can attack all the monsters your opponent controls once each and has high ATK, and so forth). They have one support card, an Elegant Egotist clone that can also banish itself to summon a Sin from the grave.

Error Arrows - A series of Quick-Play Spells and Normal Traps that can redirect the targets of various effects with a single target, often altering it such that the opponent can become subject to their own effects. Banishing several of them from the Graveyard will bring forth their ace monster which can repeatedly change targets.

A set of EARTH Fairy monsters that focus on swarming the field with Level 1 & 2 monsters using Scale 0 and 3 Pendulums. They can then Synchro Summon their boss, who is a 3000 ATK beatstick. Having multiple Synchro monsters on the field allows them to Pendulum Summon a second time in 1 turn.

S.A. monsters are a foil to the T.G. monsters with various Attributes and types. However, instead of Synchros, S.A. monsters help the pendulum mechanic. They are all pendulums with relatively low scales (highest being 5) and stats, but excellent recycling power and scale setup. They also have spells/traps that do a wide array of things through banishing cards from their Graveyard.

Skulldice

A set of low-level Fiend monsters based on dice rolling and stat manipulation. As expected, Skull Dice and Graceful Dice are good techs for the deck, and can even be searched out alongside other "dice" cards via the effects of the Skulldice monsters. The archetype has no real boss, but it is one of the larger archetypes.
