Archetype Game

Tinkerer

Recommended Posts

An archetype of mostly Machine-Type monsters with a few other Types such as Plant and Aqua-Type. They have a wide variety of Attributes. Their playstyle focuses on punishing opponents who use decks with a limited number of Attributes. For example, one of the monsters might gain ATK for each monster in the opponent's Graveyard if only 1 Attribute of monster is there. The 'bosses' of the archetype all have an effect that allows them to copy the Attribute, Type and Effect of an opponent's monster, along with having their own effects.

The Veiss are a series of DARK Warrior-type monsters who pay large sums of LP to keep the gamestate from progressing. They fuse into the powerful "Veissroys" who have nice LP gaining effects on-summon as well as even more potent stunning effects than their Main Deck counterparts.

Archetype of high-Level DARK Machine-Type monsters that alter their effects the lower their Level. You can either use their "Once per turn" effect to reduce their Level, but if that's too slow, use their Spell/Trap cards to speed things up. Their Xyz Monsters are defensive instead of offensive; that's where their Synchro monsters come in.

A group of DARK zombie-type monsters related to (and supporting) the Vampire archetype. The differences are that their Deck draining capabilities are their main focus and is triggered on-summon... Which happens quite quickly with the help of their slew of quick-play spells, and they are mostly comprised of low level monsters.

A series of LIGHT Warrior, Spellcaster, Fairy and Dragon-Type monsters whose effects allow them to gain very high DEF, then swap it with their ATK, and destroy their opponent's monsters. The boss monsters are powerful Dragons that need multiple tributes to be Summoned.

Exl-

A group of reptilians whose effects stack when there are multiple on the field. Most of them also have a secondary burn effect to stack up damage. For their powerful swarm capabilities though, they lose out on the ability to use extra deck monsters.

"Sandbag" is a group of EARTH Rock-Type monsters. They are mostly level 3 or lower with poor ATK and DEF, though there are a few level 7+ monsters with good DEF. They only have mild swarming capabilities so aren't amazing for Xyz/Synchros.

However, the low level monsters all have an ability to become much more powerful Fiend-Type monsters, that triggers when certain things happen to the high level monsters e.g being destroyed, banished etc.

The high level monsters can act as stalling and provide protection to the low level monsters while also having some slight additional effects that disrupt WATER monsters.

Archetype of FIRE Aqua-Type monsters. They all resemble stars and nebulas, and most are named after already existing stars and nebulas. They focus on Normal, Special, and Tribute Summons that aren't too difficult to pull off. They also have a fair amount of ATK and DEF. The only other effects they have are destruction-triggered (by battle or by card effect), each inhibiting your opponent.

Archetype of LIGHT Spellcasters that focus on forcing your opponent to activate effects that either benefit you or hurt them. They're decently powerful for their mostly low levels, and have a Rank 3 Xyz as a boss monster.

A small burn archetype of level 3-4 warrior-type monsters. They specialize in changing their own battle positions to inflict burn while having a field spell and continuous spells that grant them stat boosts, and protection when they change battle positions. They also have a slew of Counter Traps to deal with any other issues.

An archetype of normal machines. They have low attack and high defense. They then have pendulums that swap those two and reduce your opponent's offensive capabilities by lowering their attack power. They don't have much for search power, but they make up for it in draw power when they pendulum summon.

6 level 3 Spellcaster-type monsters, each one with a different attribute. They don't work very well together, but can work as support for mono attribute decks. Their effects are composed of a drawing effect (think OPT Heart of the Underdog when drawing a monster of their own attribute) and a thematic effect (ex FIRE has a burn effect, WIND returns to hand, EARTH buffs DEF, etc.).

Wrestler

A deck comprised of 6 level 7 "Wrestler" monsters and 6 level 2 "Wrestler Agent" monsters. For each hilariously-named wrestler there is an agent who can call it directly from the Deck to the Field. The agents are also Union monsters and equip to their respective wrestler to give them bonus abilities and +2 levels. Their boss monster is a rank 9 who is every attribute and an anti-targeting effect.

I actually like that idea. Someone should make those wrestlers.

Positron is an archetype of level 2 thunder monsters. They focus around direct attacks and getting draws off of that. While having those advantages, they have low stats and can easily be ran over by battle and card effects. They have a field spell that lets them inflict more damage with their attacks and gives them a little more swarm power.

A companion archetype to the "Jekyll" archetype. The "Jekyll" is a series of low-leveled Warrior and Spellcaster-type monsters that focus on turtling and gaining advantage The "Hyde" archetype is a group of Beasts that focus more on attacking and dealing damage. Both sides have a bit of swarm, and can banish themselves to summon a corresponding member of the other side outside of the Battle Phase (though one member of the Hydes can circumvent this for one monster a turn).

Cytus.

Cytus is an archetype of Water sea serpants and fish. They focus on ritual summoning powerful sea monsters such as Krakens and Hydras. The fish search out the ritual spells while the sea serpants search out the monsters. The ritual monsters then target 1 set card on the field and prevent it from going face-up, thus clogging the field.

Ha! I'd actually made a "Siege Engine" archetype a while back! Anyways...

A slow machine Archetype that can banish rock-type monsters from the Grave to activate their various destruction effects. They also have the ability to inflict heavy burn to the opponent, but they must return to the Hand if used. They also give passive stat boosts to warrior-types on your field.

A series of Rock-type monsters based on Tetris. All of them have high DEF, 0 ATK, are level 4, and have the effect "When you control 5 face-up 'Stacker' monsters, switch this card's ATK and DEF, also this card cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects." The various blocks all have different effects, with Line being the main swarmer of the deck and the rest ensuring that your blocks stick around while also shutting down your opponent in various ways, mostly with ATK debuffs, Battle Phase shenanigans, and both of those combined.
