Wavering is legitimately a terrible idea with Akkedis, Des-Draco, Victorian, and D-Order on the scene. All very strong Pendulum archetypes that would love Wavering at 3.

Ironically, for being an archetype that just likes being solid and consistent, not power plays, D-Order gets really stupid and really luck-sacky really quickly once you add in a few cards.

Speaking of, we need some Normal monsters with 2700+ ATK, because First Dame is functionally immortal as it is- she's immune to monster effects entirely, and can't be destroyed period outside battle with a Normal monster.

Also, looking over it, Deep Sleep/Inner Demons/Akkedis, being decent Gemini archetypes on their own, might become stronger together. Like, a lot stronger. Deep Akkedis Demons?

Tfw we have our own DAD.

That's outlined in the prompt. Here you go:

The Land of Brimstone

Field Spell

"Brimstone" monsters you control gain 300 ATK and DEF. When your opponent takes damage from a card's effect, except the effect of "Land of Brimstone", inflict 300 damage to your opponent's Life Points. Once per turn, if all monsters you control are "Brimstone" monsters, you can discard 1 card from your hand to Special Summon 1 "Brimstone" monster from your Graveyard.

This good enough?

[spoiler=Yeah]

I designed this with another vanilla Pendulum in mind. Let me know if you want that one as well.

(And yes, it's a generic Scale 8; not like Konami hasn't already given us Dragonpit and Metaphose)

As for the Shiroken Kunoichi, I'll have to think about it; working on other side projects.

So, First Dame can be taken out by:

The new Pendulum

Rip Van Winkle

Zorin Blitz, under the Major's ATK boost

Werewolf

Schrodinger, under the Major's ATK boost

Dandyman, under the Major's ATK boost

The Valentines, under the Major's ATK boost

Silver Knight

Trident Soldier

Ethereal Armorer

Non-destroying non-banishing S/T removal

That's two archetypes and a generic that can take her out for good, due to D-Order's ability to retrieve banished cards and ability to field her multiple times per Duel (maybe per turn if someone finds an exploitable loop).

Looks decent.

I have another Vanilla that has 2800 ATK, but that one is a [generic] Scale 9 and linked to another Archetype which is very SS-oriented and does crazy things.

Oh yeah, here's the other Pendulum that goes with Kitsunari.

(Be warned, it is a generic Scale 0 but it doesn't do anything important aside from being related to her. Seriously, Level 1 monsters need a way to be P-Summoned.)

Epma-en028.jpg

(Because YCM hates Wikia/Vignette, pic is small but you get an idea)

----

I should get a look at this card that's causing us to bring up Vanillas that can destroy it.

The offender:

D-Order - First Dame

DARK - Level 9 - Warrior/Fusion/Effect - 2700/2000

2 Warrior-Type Normal monsters

Must be Fusion Summoned, and cannot be Summoned by other ways. Cannot be destroyed, except by battle with a Normal monster. Unaffected by monster effects, except the effects of "D-Order" monsters you control.

I bring up a banishing issue because there is a D-Order card that can send banished monsters back into your Deck.

Also, for the issue of Pendulum Summoning Level 1 monsters, I've got you covered. Here's a line from the card text of "Penumbral Fair Hypnotist", a Level 1 Pendulum monster:

"This face-up monster in your Extra Deck is treated as Level 4."

Now, any set of Scales that can Pendulum Summon Level 4 can Pendulum Summon Hypnotist. Ta-da!

Make sure you follow the form on the main post.

----

If I ever do Akatsuki of YCM, have to figure out which members on YCM are salty as heck (which is probably some TCG members). Though, it might have to include some of the members who were originally in said club.

(For the record, that club alone is responsible for Fusion's, DL/Colgate and I think Black's high post count to an extent, among other things. Seriously, it got that active.)

Otherwise, probably more stuff that I can look through in the thread.

e8oPTNZ.jpg

Pendulum Effect:You cannot Pendulum Summon monsters, except "Penumbral Fair" monsters. This effect cannot be negated.

Monster Effect:This face-up monster in your Extra Deck is treated as Level 4. If your opponent inflicts 1000 or more damage to your Life Points, you can Special Summon this monster from your hand: flip all cards your opponent controls face-down, and they cannot be flipped face-up until after your next Main Phase 2 (This effect can only be activated if there are 4 or more total "Penumbral Fair" cards in your Graveyard and/or Banished Zone. This effect of "Penumbral Fair Hypnotist" can only be activated once per turn). Once per turn, if this monster is equipped with an "Penumbral Fair" card: You can return this card and the card(s) that are equipped with to your hand: The next card or effect your opponent activates is negated.

I don't think this is what he meant. He meant there should be a Scale 0 for Level 1 monsters.

Everyone has their Kryptonite. For example, I hate hate HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE Ghostricks, and I'm not fond of hand traps.

As for me I loathe Grave-triggering (more specifically, the kind that specifically say "sent to Graveyard"; so Performage Trick Clown, Burning Abyss, and for a time, Shaddoll); funking cheap.

I think next I'll take up the Grimmoire archetype.

Grimmoire

LIGHT Fiends and Fairies, with a very odd mixed bag of gimmicks to them:

1. Like Crystal Beasts, if their Main Deck offerings would die, you can put them in your Spell/Trap Zones instead, and while there they ape the effects of various Spells, but on a continuous basis (OPT versions of MST, in-archetype RotA, Smashing Ground, Monster Reincarnation and even a Change of Heart clone)

2. In terms of their effects as monsters, their main strategy is similar to Rock Stun, locking your opponent from doing something when flipped face-up (attacking, SSing, using Spells or Traps, recycling, banishing).

3. Despite the staggered Levels, they're one of the best Xyz archetypes in the biz, because once face-up these atrocities match Levels with each other. Good thing they're restricted to their own archetype . . .

4. Oddly, their Xyz entries aren't really that bad, being odd beatsticks . . . provided your opponent doesn't kill them. If they are killed by your opponent's card, they immediately Rank up into ANY Xyz that is exactly 1 Rank higher. Feel free to panic.

Well, now we have a Scale 0 for Level 1 monsters, and it's generic enough.

As for Decks I don't like; probably EmEm because they're degenerate as hell (if I wanted to watch the circus, I'd just go to a real one if I could be bothered [also a reason why I don't like Yuya as much as the other protagonists at times]) and Monarchs/Kozmo to an extent. Though, for the former case, emergency banlist killed them to an extent, which is good.

For future projects, I need to look around.

Another one of mine . . . ? Stalker.

Kidding, kidding.

But making YCM/AGM/People-based archetypes has been tried before. The problem is making it cohesively work as an archetype while still acknowledging the character of each person.

My "Grand Makers"? Inconsistent, not very cohesive, as I focused too much on each person.

Nyx's "Awakening Legends"? Works as an archetype, if admittedly hella broken, but the references to the people involved are too subtle.

*shrug*

I was making an Archetype called "Moderators of the Fantasy World" some time ago based on the current staff some time ago, but I only made myself and Zextra. Those two work together (although he and I were buddies for a long time, so makes sense).

Didn't get to the other ones; either because I don't know enough about my own colleagues (well, I know more on Night than I do the others, but that's because he's one of the members from my generation of YCMers that I've talked to).

Do you guys remember this card?

tumblr_mxdy8ai1Yf1rem1amo1_400.png

Do you guys like Castlevania? Regardless, I made a whole archetype based on this card/franchise:

[spoiler=Show Monsters]

f8RbqqG.jpg

LORE:This card can be treated as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a "Vampire Killer" monster. While you control no other monsters, this card's original ATK and DEF are 2000. If this card is destroyed by a card effect, you can target 1 DARK monster on the field; it is sent to the Graveyard during your 2nd Standby Phase (even if this card and/or the target are no longer on the field).

xiUPUta.jpg

LORE:Cannot be Special Summoned. Must require 3 "Vampire Killer" monsters to Normal Summon/Set. This card is unaffected by your opponent's card effects. If this card battles a DARK monster, you can increase this card's ATK by 800 during the Damage Step only. Other monsters you control cannot declare an attack.

IOrDCsh.jpg

LORE:While you control no monsters, you can Tribute Summon this card using a monster your opponent controls as if you controlled it. If this card attacks or is attacked, your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken. Once per turn, you can target 1 DARK monster on the field; its ATK and DEF are switched.

XDQaZBB.jpg

LORE:You can Normal Summon/Set this card without Tributing, but its original ATK is halved. If this card is Tribute Summoned, you can destroy 1 card on the field. During your opponent's Battle Phase, if your opponent would attack a "Vampire Killer" monster you control, you can negate the attack and Tribute Summon this card. If you do, you cannot Normal Summon or Set during your next turn.

g301AOa.jpg

LORE:When this card is Tribute Summoned, you can target 1 DARK monster on the field; its effects are negated (even in the Graveyard), and it is destroyed. Once, while this card is on the field, you can shuffle up to 2 banished cards to the respective owner's Deck. Any DARK monster this card destroys by battle is banished instead of being sent to the Graveyard.

U2lVJ2Q.jpg

LORE:You can Normal Summon this card without Tributing, but its original ATK and DEF become 1500. When this card is Tribute Summoned: You can banish up to 2 cards in the field. LORE:This card is unaffected by the effects of your opponent's DARK monsters. When this card is Tribute Summoned, you can target 1 DARK monster on the field; halve its ATK.

Cp7Vj8I.jpg

LORE:You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Vampire Killer - Maria Renard" from your Deck or Graveyard. This card gains effects based on the number of "Vampire Killer" monsters you control:

● 1+: This card cannot be destroyed by card effects.

● 2+: The original ATK of this card becomes 2000.

● 3+: This card and "Vampire Killer" monsters you control are unaffected by your opponent's Trap effects.

Au7ug85.jpg

LORE:Cannot be destroyed by battle or targeted by card effects. Once per turn, you can destroy 1 face-up DARK monster on the field; you cannot conduct your Battle Phase this turn. If this card was Tributed for the Tribute Summon of a "Vampire Killer" monster, you can negate the effects of all face-up cards your opponent controls.

Scabtyf.jpg

LORE:Your opponent cannot activate the effects of DARK monsters the turn they are Special Summoned or sent to the Graveyard. You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Vampire Killer" monster with a different name from your Deck. You can only activate the effect of "Vampire Killer-Nathan Graves" once per turn.

sZHgxrQ.jpg

LORE:Your opponent cannot activate the effects of DARK monsters the turn they are Special Summoned or sent to the Graveyard. If you do, this card's original ATK and DEF are doubled and it is unaffected by other card effects.

● Banish 1 DARK monster on the field.

● Inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.

LORE:While this card is on the field, your opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap cards if they have 3 or more In their Spell & Trap Card Zone. If you do, this card's original ATK and DEF are doubled and it is unaffected by other card effects.

jlLub7L.jpg

LORE:If you control a face-up "Vampire Killer - Charlotte Aulin", you can Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn, while you control another face-up "Vampire Killer" monster, you can activate 1 of the following effects:

● Negate the effects of all DARK monsters your opponent controls until the End Phase.

● If this card attacks or is attacked, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step.

● This card loses exactly 1500 ATK, and if it does, you can target 1 "Vampire Killer" monster you control with a different name; it gains 1500 ATK. These effects last until the End Phase.

veshMtR.jpg

LORE:When this card is Tribute Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 "Vampire Killer" monster from your Graveyard. Any DARK monster this card destroys by battle is shuffled into the Deck instead of being sent to the Graveyard. Any DARK monster sent to the Graveyard cannot activate its effects.
