Compound Beast Archetype (INOV)

Then why did you bring this card up?

Hawk can revive any Gemini in Defense

Crab can mill any Gemini then search any Gemini

Ox can Summon any Gemini/make all your Geminis the same Level as whatever you Summon

Dyox can Banish any Gemini from your Graveyard to destroy any 1 card your opponent controls

The field lets you Normal Summon Level 5 or higher Geminis from your hand without needing Tributes

etc

Compound Beasts, basically, lack Level/name/etc restrictions. So enabling there Gemini effects right away via Rapitunus is a huge advantage.

A bit disappointed that the Level2s aren't Level4 for synergy with Gemini Spark.

That Extra Normal Summon effect on the Field Spell is amazing; it's what Geminis needed the most IMO. Actually, the Field Spell as a whole looks amazing, having those 3 effects in a single card.

The Level8 Fiend and its effect of "banish archetype card to target X; destroy that target" effect reminded me of Hyperion, Priestess of Prophecy, and old school archetype "bosses".

I think being Level 2s is the best thing that happened to them because:

time to remake gemini haymaker boyz

These guys look really fun to play. Between Supervise and the new Field, Geminis have some very strong support. Hell, with Ox you could hypothetically have Rank 2, 4 and 8 with the fair amount of strong Level 4 geminis. But that's probably a bit much.

Also, since they're level 2;

bruh go all in super turbo x3 Tri Wight x3 White Elephant's Gift x3 Trade-In x3 Gemini Spark who needs to search when you can just draw everything lel.

I feel like this deck is going to come down to pretty much 1 thing, and that's your opening hand.  If you first, open with Burn Out, as well as a decent turn 1 play (field + Crab for example) you can get the motor running extremely quickly and keep it at a high speed due to all the grave and banishment interaction.  However if you open garbage and are forced to take a couple turns setting up, it's going to hurt.  Like a lot.  I see this deck potentially bricking super hard with non-optimal card counts, and even then you could wind up in a very poor position very quickly.

This seems like a deck that's going to require a lot of thought.  You really have to resist the urge to overextend or you're gonna get freaking obliterated while you try to somehow restart your engine in the late game.  But if you can maintain your plays consistently every turn, I can see this deck really being powerful when run with the already existing Gemini support, some of which is actually pretty dang decent

Regarding Tri-Wight...

Only real problem is, however, the fact Geminis have no real way to quickly dump everything into the Graveyard.

UNLESS you decided to be weird, and do something like...

Poly into Raptinus using 2 from your hand.

Foolish Burial or whatever into a 3rd.

Tri into 3 of your Level 2s.

??????????????

Gemini Spark

Spark only uses Level 4s.

uhhh....Crab?  That's a pretty decent method to me.  Crab + Field instantly sets up 3 level 2 targets for when they all bite the dust.

Also Burn Out trades 1 Gemini for 2, which means you can rapidly fish out monsters, and so long as they go to the grave you're set.

Spark only uses Level 4s.

Well rip that idea that was one of the few passable Gemini support cards.

Well yes, as Level2 they get access to different kind of support, namely the aforementioned Tri-Wight; I admit I hadn't think about that card specifically, but I kind of was aware there was something out there they could take advantage of; but still, I think they would have appreciated a synergy with Gemini Spark for aggressive/proactive plays.

Besides, as Level2s they grant access to the Rank2 pool, which may not be as big or diverse as other pools, but has nice toys such as Centaurea and that Crumble Logos, and those should be handy... maybe.

8. Cry

9. Realize there would otherwise be a "1-card" blackrose everyone would have to main at 3, because it would outclass raigeki, dark hole, harpies feather duster and heavy storm.

(even though it could get restrictions preventing this, a 1-card level 7 synchro for everyone is still literally cancer (for the game)).

I don't think we're getting a 3rd Level 8. See, the Hy Dragon and Dyoxen already represent the possible combination between the Hydrogen, the Carbon and the Oxygen from the 3 Level 2 - H2O and CO2, respectively. By combining those 2 substances in sufficient amounts, we can obtain organic compounds, like the Methane, already represented by Methane Hyde, a combination from all the elements included in the theme - not unlike what plants do during photosynthesis. Therefore, it's unlikely there's going to be any more compounds included in the archetype.

Oh, and sorry in advance if somebody has already pointed that out and I hadn't realized it.

I thought Hy Dragon was supposed to represent the diatomic nature of Hydrogen rather than H2O, but I like this thought better and it makes a lot of sense.

Just from YGOpro testing, these don't seem as terrible as I was worried they'll be. Granted the field spell is the entire reason they can accomplish anything and without it they hop on the deck and flop like a fish.

That's not a good sign; over-dependence on one card usually doesn't go well with most archetypes.

I think I was clear that it isn't a great sign, but that with the Spell they can be effective. As long as you're running other Gemini Effectors like Supervise, and even slightly fringe cards like Gemini Booster, you can do well. And Burn Out can get you into the Xyz quickly so as to protect your lil guys.
