~British Soul~ Posted October 23, 2016 Report Share Posted October 23, 2016 FINALLY got around to watch the subs from last week's episode[spoiler=Thoughts on 127 Subbed]- Leo revealed to Yusho that Yuya isn't actually his son and that he and the other Yu boys were rencarnations of Zarc. He also revealed that the bracelet girls were reincarnations of his daughter Ray, and that the Arc Area project's purpose was using the cardified people's life energy to unite the dimensions and revive Ray.- So Leo cardified the Doctor because he felt that the Doctor's thinking was dangerous (good riddance), oh and because he thought that the Doctor couldn't beat Yuya- After the truth was revealed, Leo wanted Reiji's help in defeating Yuya, but Reiji opposed him instead Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

(Man it's been ages)- Didn't expect Leo's deck to be Pendulum orientated (though I should've tbph. Then again I was expecting Fusions given where we are)- Yuya's new fusion is certainly something I expected Berserk Yuya (or should I say Zarc) to use. Yusho's thinking that Zarc chose duelists to raise his pieces to become duelists is plausible, but I think he's looking at the wrong side of the coin. The other things they learned(namely Yuya) other than dueling are also just as important. evilfusion Posted October 24, 2016 Report Share Posted October 24, 2016 [spoiler=Episode Thoughts]The funny part off the bat is that near the very end of the episode, I was thinking "Okay, it's not that this episode is uneventful, it's just that nothing's really HAPPENED". This was like 17-18 minutes into the episode. And as if responding to this thought, Yuya promptly flipped his sheet and made the last 3-4 minutes just jaw-droppingly amazing. Okay, in this episode, stuff happened. The Duel starts, and we understand Leo's goal, not only to merge the dimensions back to how they originally were, in hopes of undoing his mistakes and reviving Ray, as well as his desire to stop Zarc's revival. We're reminded that this is a genuine goal for him when Yuya brings out Odd-Eyes, and Leo definitely remembers that Odd-Eyes is one of Zarc's monsters. And then Reiji spams his usual spam spam combos, and I do like that Leo praised Reiji's skills in that sense, meaning that he knows that Reiji had a lot of Dueling potential, and has gotten much better. The Contract is kind of dumb, but understandable all the same. And then Leo reveals he can use Pendulum. In-universe, this is legitimately shocking. Less so for the audience, because Dennis, a KNOWN Academia agent, has a Pendulum-based Deck, presumably much of which was provided by Reiji originally (because LDS worked on manufacturing Pendulum cards, and after the Battle Royale, the Lancers pretty much all had a set of Pendulums geared towards their own archetype, and Pendulum support cards. Obviously, this would scream "suspicious" for Dennis to have so many Pendulums if Reiji wasn't involved in their creation), and is also KNOWN to have returned to Academia and report to the Professor. In addition to so many Academia agents losing to Pendulum-wielding Lancers, and the Amazoness twins even being deployed specifically to defeat the Pendulum users, I would be MORE shocked if Leo didn't have access to his own Pendulums. This does bring up a different question - What is the significance of Pendulums now that we know the dimensions used to be one originally? Pendulums did not exist in the United World, because Zarc's "Standard" dragon was Odd-Eyes Dragon, a regular Effect Monster. And we see via flashback that Zarc merged himself with the dragons using Astromancy Magician (or whatever), said to be the ruler of Space AND Time. Timegazer and Stargazer reacted simultaneously to this plot reveal, and they (along with Odd-Eyes) were the first Pendulums awakened. Yuya's pendant ALSO reacted to the plot reveal. It seems likely to me that along with the Dragons, Ray, and Zarc, Astromancy Magician (the cause of the fusion) was broken into 2 separate cards. Leo breaking Reiji's combo and re-allowing Fusion Summon seems appropriate...assuming Leo uses Fusions, but I personally think he uses all the methods in some form, but Fusion is logical considering Fusion Dimension. And then Yuya flips his sheet, and brings out a new Fusion that made me do a stunned double-take upon seeing how semi-ugly it was. I didn't expect a non-Dragon Fusion. And then when Yuya declared its effect and blasted the hell out of Leo, I immediately had 5Ds Crashtown vibes. Gatling Ogre - a card that could deal a ton of effect damage in one go, whose bullets appeared legitimately painful, and the user seemed to greatly enjoy how prolonged the damaging bursts were. It was both shocking as hell, but also enjoyable. I really like Berserk Yuya moreso than when he's spouting egao. I appreciate his ideals, but he tends to turn serious duels into a farce at times, and this is a situation where the plot is so dark and serious all of a sudden that it would ruin the tone of the past few episodes. Also, Yusho's musings were very profound, plot-wise. Now that it had been established that the 4 Dimensions are not naturally existing (as originally thought), it makes sense that they're all...incomplete...in a sense. People living in the Dimensions don't have full recollections, since Yuzu's dad doesn't seem to recall having a wife, or how Yuzu was born (foreshadowed super-early in the series, when Yuzu asked about her bracelet, and found his response unsatisfying). Leo even said he didn't fully remember the United World when he appeared in Standard, and only seemed to have recalled it by using a device to replay his memories. Next episode intrigues me as well, because it seems to show Yuya being attacked by Hell Armageddon. So either Leo uses cards/effects to steal that monster, or Reiji turns his attacks towards Yuya. Also, one last thing - Leo was the only one who knew about the United World, and said that Standard didn't have the other Summoning methods. But...Standard DOES have them (in the present). Well...Leo founded LDS, and he already knew about the other Summoning methods. So...it explains why LDS seemed to have a monopoly on teaching students about the other Summoning methods. The other Dimensions have what used to be referred to as "True X Summoning" (Fusion/Synchro/Xyz), that being, the Summon methods originating in those dimensions are much more potent in energy, and Reiji even acknowledged he knew Sora was probably from Academia because his Fusions were more potent than LDS students. Which...makes even more sense, because LDS would have printed Fusions, Synchros, and Xyz with lower energy outputs than the Fusions/etc from the real dimensions. Also, I mentioned this eons ago, but Sora noted that Reiji's Temujin "seemed to be the real thing" (which no one understood the comment at the time, but later was a hint that Sora could tell "True Fusion" from nerfed Fusion Summons), which suggested to me that Reiji got his DDDs from the other dimensions. Possibly...or he worked with the card creation process to the point that he could replicate the energy outputs, as he obsessed over replicating the strength of Yuya's Pendulums. [spoiler=Yusho's musings]I agree with you fusion, it's interesting how Yusho realized that Zarc sent Yuya to be trained as a duelist. Honestly, all of the Yus right now have been properly molded in their respective dimensions to amplify his main traits. Yuya is the base, to be the best and most progressive and evolving duelist, like Zarc when he first started before claiming the other 3 Dimensions Dragons. Yuto was raised to be fueled by anger and vengeance, because of Academia attacking Heartland. He was trained to improve upon the rage the Dragons felt. Yugo was at the bottom of the barrel in the City, and so he was raised to have ambition, a desire to be at the top and let nothing stop him. He was made to be ambitious to improve his quality of life. Yuri was a monster and made from Zarc's sadism and cruelty. Through Academias hunting game he was allowed to get his fill, and make him hunger for more. His brutality grew the more he was allowed to be that way. Yusho was onto something, in that all of Zarc's avatars were put into positions that improved upon his main qualities. Desire to entertain, anger, ambition, and cruelty/sadism. ~British Soul~ Posted October 29, 2016 Report Share Posted October 29, 2016 FINALLY got around to watching le subs[spoiler=Thoughts on 128 subbed]- Yusho muses that he's doubting that Yuya was born to him that or he can't remember how he was born, though Yuzu's dad doesn't remember having a wife either or how she was born, which makes sense since it seems that when the dimensions split, the characters don't seem to have full recollections. He also realised that Zarc sent his avatar (Yuya) to be trained as a duelist so that Zarc can regain his former self as the strongest duelist.- Not surprised Leo wanted to get rid of OEPD asap because he knows that the dragon is one of the dragons that Zarc used, though I wondered why he got rid of Temujin, then I remembered that we're currently in the fusion dimension so it makes sense to do so first. ~British Soul~ Posted October 30, 2016 Report Share Posted October 30, 2016 [spoiler=Thoughts on 129 Subbed (aka Initial thoughts)]- So Leo had his guy increase the energy input for Arc-V because he felt it was going too slow ala the rate that Zarc was growing inside Yuya, though Reiji is comparing Leo to a demon because he's using the cardified humans as fule to revive Ray.- Leo felt that Reiji was easy to read as he figured Reiji would sack his monsters for one with a higher level and ATK (Hell Armageddon) so he would get rid of Pendulum Governor and had measures in place to cockblock him, then went to call him a second-rate duelist as a result.- After last episode, I'm not surprised Leo has a Fusion/Pendulum. Though Dis-Swing Fusion is a dickish card, making Reiji take damage even though he had Hell Armageddon stolen.- I didn't expect Yusho to step in and terminate the duel with a trap card that had a bug that causes it to remain even after RSV goes offline, though I didn't think the duel would've ended with a result anyway. (Not gonna lie, the first thing I thought of when that Trap was used and it having a bug was Golden Castle of Stromberg which we know wasn't meant to be accepted by Duel Disks, yet was hacked to do so) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Too bad that fact wasn't mentioned in the episode. Yuya goes crazy and ALMOST killed Leo (and would've done so, if Yusho didn't intrude and use an illegal card)On that note, yeah, partly upset because the duel was getting good and then he ended it. (There was a reason for it, but otherwise you can call him a buzzkill)Yuya, you do realize that Nightmare Knight would've killed Reiji too right (since Disswing Fusion makes the original owner take damage)Hell Armageddon returns, but only to break Leo's Attribute protection as a Tribute monster. (I do wish Reiji showed off more stuff than just the new Contracts though)Leo calls Reiji a second class duelist for only considering what's in front. Granted, Reiji did the right thing by removing stuff that gives the opponent advantage, but forgot to see the face-down. (And what have we learned about dealing with backrow?)Energy level was increased to speed up Ray's revival; well, I guess Leo has no choice considering Z-arc is reviving in front of him.
